I’ve asserted previously that DOJ is political by definition, existing within the Executive. All top DOJ positions, in depth, are appointed by the president. As sure as alleged Hell, none will go after the man who appointed them to office. There are many more DOJ key positions totally controlled by the president than most realize. Further, we swore “ ... suffer not our hatred of hypocrisy and pretense ever to diminish. ... never to be content with a half truth when the whole truth can be won. ... scorns to compromise with vice and injustice and knows no fear when truth and right are in jeopardy ...” That’s as far away from our typical politicians, including some over-praised, living and dead, high ranking retired military politicians, as is possible.
