Had a kid show up at my front door last year. He’s wearing the obligatory leftist mask and carrying an iPad. He tries to hand me the iPad but I’m fully aware that’s an influence tactic so I decline. He proceeds to explain he’s gathering signatures to pressure our governor’s office to take climate change more seriously. First, I say, you’re wearing a mask to supposedly protect me from your germs, yet you want to hand me an iPad that you no doubt just handed to a bunch of strangers so that I sign it with my finger in the same spot others have done. Second, I said, climate change is bullshit. He didn’t know what to say and promptly left. Sadly, I’m certain he, his teachers, parents and friends are all bought-in and upon hearing his story will think I’m an asshole. Cest la vie.
Let's also keep in mind that science and consensus are different things entirely. Once upon a time the consensus was that the sun revolved around the earth; that the Earth was flat; that you could make gold out of lead ...
Even if there really was a consensus that global warming exists and is primarily man-made AND is a dire threat, that still would not make it a scientific fact.

The purported conclusions of the “Paris Agreement”and the IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ) studies as relates to alleged human cause has been and continues to be a deliberate misrepresentation of the findings & opinions of the great majority of involved scientific input, which has found very minimal scientific support for human caused warming. I posted a comment somewhere on 04/23/23 with a batch of IPCC scientists’ quotes on this misrepresentation. Not the first major scientific study subject advertising conclusions not supported by study contents when there is a strong agenda to be protected.
The correlation between sunspots and global temps has been known a long time, I became aware of it in the early 1990’s. With Svensmark’s cosmic rays hypotheses, a mechanism connected solar activity to cloud formation and cooling. CO2 dindu nuffin. And yet the AGW lies permeated the matrix. It took me years, but enlightenment has to reverse years of propaganda. Getting laid off in 2010 gave me more time to research. Truth one little piece at a time.
