Seems to me when I go to the website, there all sort of disclaimers (to be expected) and other challenging methods to try and get the current figures. A few weeks ago, the news came out that lime disease is a lab escapee too. Someone who worked in the Lime lab handed the paperwork to the governor, who at first did not seem to think much of it, but given the covid escapee, it came out.
As to meal worms, last year a European company got the green light selling meal worm powder. I warned my father not to buy anything out of the ordinary just in case !!!
Lyme disease came from Plum Island off Connecticut coast. There is a fabulous book about it, which of course, I can’t remember! Looked it up. It’s Lab 257!!!

OMG I remember reading that part in a book or article from the journalist wo went there I think. The duct tape. And a few months later he or she went there again and the tape was still there. Asking why it still was not repaired the report got as answer it was repaired indeed, but they just left the tape unbothered. Lazy !

Plum Island used duct tape to seal doors of refrigerators I believe. I was very interested in Plum Island after 9/11 and some BBS chatted it up.
