I live in Florida and most of my new neighbors are liberals migrating from blue states. They are fleeing their dangerous democrat run cities and coming here and continuing their bad voting habits which will eventually turn our state blue! It's very disheartening. I keep reading about all the patriots moving to Florida but unfortunately they are not moving to my city. For anyone planning on a move to Florida or anywhere else, make sure you do your homework about the area first, because not all of Florida is conservative.
I live in Florida, too, on the Gulf Coast, and this is why I say what I say to people who haven't learned to make causal links. As of September I'll have been here a year. I live about 20 miles south of Sarasota, and most of my neighbors are NOT leftists, but yes, there are pockets of Marxists in Sarasota, in Miami, and in all the counties where voter fraud occurs. Florida was always a battleground state as I recall. So even though there have been Republican governors, it's DeSantis who has caused more Republicans than Dems to currently be registered here and to have escaped communism--at home and abroad. (I'm nonpartisan because I didn't want to go from one crap party to the other or to starve, as I work in a blue industry and am already being punished by it and scared shitless by insufficient work projects--but that's a whole other story.) The couple across the street emigrated from the Soviet bloc. They are FREAKED by the state of the country and say, understandably, how they didn't come here to experience what they escaped. They know firsthand where this is going if we don't intervene to make it safe and sane again. They're citizens, young people (late 30s, early 40s), and they vote. It's only since the populists are driving out the corrupt, war-mongering RINOs that I think more positively about the GOP. If it's a relief at all, many Dems here, I've learned, do and will vote for sensible, constitutionally sound governance. So long way (sorry) of saying I hear you, but I really think it's going to be OK.
Juli- you are not far from me- I live in the Marxist pocket of Sarasota! You are right about Florida being a battleground state. I've been here for almost 45 years now- and I have seen change. I feel so bad for the folks like your neighbors , I know of people like that too. I am crossing my fingers for a good turnout for the midterms. I think a lot hinges on them. In the meantime, I'll hope for the best!
Wow! I stayed in an AirBnB in Bee Ridge my first two months. Very Trumpian in the neighborhood I was at. I miss Urfer Park and the true neighborhood, friendly feel of the Publix on Bee Ridge Road near Cattlemen's road. The rent house I'm in in Venice is price-gouging! Might have to move inland to better afford rent, especially since my industry is killing me. Hope we get to meet one day. Will have to wait till I can afford car repair. Afraid to drive out of the area. Was praying all the way to poll worker orientation in North Port. Anyway, I moved here, and I won't be ruining your fabulous FREE state. I appreciate it and you! Many of us newbies feel the same way.
I live in heavily democrat Palm Beach County. Hoping that one day Lois Frankel will not be my Congress person. Not a huge fan of Sen Rubio but has to be a better choice than the Impeachment Queen and BLM enabler Demmings!
