LD50 testing is normally done on rats.

It's much higher for rats around 80 mg per kg from memory.

So? The LD 50 test is still normally done using rats to determine the total amount needed to kill half (50%) of the rats being used in the testing.

L(ethal) D(ose) 50(%) ..... LD50.
