The Covid current variants are even more contagious. If, as Eugyppius claimes “many viruses simply can’t surge if others are active” Why is this year different with a flu wave vs the last two?

At this juncture, it is still early in the game. In the U.S., flu season usually peaks between December and February. It could peter out/be overcome by a COVID variant by then a la eugyppius' theory. Or, if you prefer Geert Vanden Bossche's theory, we will be overwhelmed by COVID this winter. I don't know ~ just waiting and watching.

Yes, we shall see. If Australia is any guide, as it usually is for the first wave of flu, we should be hit. In addition to the schools in San Diego and VA which are already getting clobbered..
