The VA keeps pestering me to get the updated tetanus brew.

There were 28 cases of tetanus reported to the CDC in 2022. And there are what, 330 million people in the US?

So...I divided 28 by 330 million and my chances of getting tetanus are .0000008 of 1%.

However, if I would actually step on a rusty nail, I might reconsider.

Rusty nails in and of themselves are not what causes the tetanus toxin to flare up in a wound. Feces from livestock in barnyards (barnyard nails) and in farm soil are where the toxin is found prolifically. My younger friends fear rust of any type, erroneously believing that rust alone carries tetanus. Rust is iron oxide and won't hurt you. Shallow wounds that receive air (oxygen) won't likely lead to tetanus; tetanus require anaerobic (oxygen-less) wounds in which to flourish. Deep wounds. I am not a doctor. I just read a lot. I think "they" are trying to scare everyone into yet another "required" vaccine these days.

Thank you for the details.

I do believe a person can get titers done to see if they have tetanus antibodies from previous inoculations.

That's because the criminal doctors get payments plus bonuses on how many vaccines they give for a certain time period. An example in article below on the Covid bio-shots Provider Incentive Program in Kentucky:

Having side effects from the pneumonia shot was a wake up call for sure.
