Hmmm! Maybe that's given to any age if a person has diabetes. I am so borderline that I don't need to do daily testing. My next appointment I will see how A1C is and try and discontinue taking Metformin. Every medication presents side effects. I was taking one that caused permanent uncontrollable movements called Tardive Dyskinesia. They created a medication for this condition in which I participated in the test study in hopes it would treat the condition. I was promised I would be supplied the medication if it worked until it received FDA approval which it did. It costs about $10k per month but it didn't work for me and now that it has come to market the drug company says it could make the movements worse. Austedo came to market which I tried and it was giving me thoughts of suicide and told my doctor about that and he said it can do that so best to stop. Why have such a product then.

I would think hard and find another way of treating myself before ever---ever getting on the pharma train. All of their potions are deadly. #2 deaths in the world are caused by pharmaceuticals # 3 deaths in the world are medical mistakes. Nope, not for anyone. I told my husbands doctor that I would rather see a veterinarian before ever letting any MD touch me. His eyes went kookoo.

I took the pneumonia shot because I have pulmonary problems from my military service.

Used to take the generic version of Singulair for asthma until I found out it has a FDA black box warning on it for mental health issues including thoughts of suicide.

While we're discussing the myriad of poisons that are pushed at us ......... Let me also add CIPROFLOXIN and all the other fluoroquinolones that are extremely dangerous . Also with black box warnings ( that so many "drs" seem to totally neglect .)

Thank you for posting.

I have read that Cipro should not be prescribed for folks in their 60s because it can cause a tendon to tear.

Your doctor won't tell you.
