There are degrees of authoritarianism. Without doing a Constitution lesson here, there is a reason States' Rights is vital: if you don't like, say, a hard left state like New York you pick up and move to a state like Florida. Make sense?
I agree. However, many states pass laws that violate personal rights. That's why we had the civil rights act and bill of rights.
Democracy is an illusion and I find bodily integrity to be violated by both parties in different ways.

There is for most intents and purposes a uniparty operating here, and yet there are states that offer far less tyranny. The succession will finally break the Federal gov unconstitutionality whereby federal income taxes would be null and void, as they must always have been.
