Was there a "sudden surge of deaths the USA recorded in 2020 due to the alleged Covid-19 pandemic"? IIRC, didn't fewer Americans die in 2020 than in 2019?

Japan: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2020/05/12/national/tokyo-overall-mortality-data-shows-no-surge-deaths-pandemic/

In Japan in 2020, fewer people died than in any of the preceding nine years.

The OECD database linked in the article seems to confirm that most countries had negative excess deaths in 2020. It was only after the so-called "vaccinations" started that excess deaths rocketed to make 2021 the worst year on record.

We must take into account the number of humans that normally die of diseases, accidents, old age; from all I’ve read, these normal deaths were not removed from the COVID deaths during those years, as pretty much all deaths were labeled “with COVID” for the money received by doing so. I saw a report for the first year that showed very few increased deaths over the priors years. COVID was simply another, different flu bug. We certainly did not eradicate the common cold, flu, pneumonia, etc.; they all became COVID starting when the State Affiliated Media announced the new strain.
