I see people conducting all kinds of business with their smartphone. Every transaction they do is being tracked. Someone is either following or purchasing that kind of data.

Sometimes it seems like I am the only person using cash.

I kept advising folks to take as much cash as possible out of the ATM on a weekly basis.

In Cyprus a few years back, the government declared a bank "holiday" and limited withdrawals on ATMs.

No, you aren’t, I am using cash as much as I can. Especially when I traveled out of state. It seems if someone is watching you through purchases, and knows you are traveling, they can make your trip a nightmare. I know because someone hacked into my bank credit card and tried making purchases, but thank goodness my bank reached out to me, to question purchases. Unfortunately, they had to freeze my bank card. I was left vulnerable, upset and away from home. From now on when I travel, it is only going to be with cash. And an emergency credit card only…also, I no longer do ANY banking online. I feel this was very risky. Never again!

I don't even have a smartphone. Just a landline and a cheap flip phone for emergencies while I am out.
