What Elon has been proposing, for yrs now, and has finally positioned almost all his chess pieces into place for, is a satalite panopticon, centralised control system, that has no option to opt out. It's the same as the current feudalism setup (from cradle to grave), but with more tech- which means you don't get to choose whether your in/out of the system. Right now, you can choose to exit the system, it's convoluted but doable. Most don't because they believe in the BS or it just seems too hard. But right now it's still possible.
When Elon connects all the pieces, the choosing will be over, because No matter where you go, you will be seen, heard, and ultimately all of your actions predicted. It will not be a dystopian nightmare, it will be a very pretty, "caring" cage, but a cage none the less. So if your happy to live and die as you are then it won't be so bad. You can ignore the gnawing ache of "got to be more, or some things missing", getting high, getting loose, or getting off, for awhile until you can't.
But if you want to really live and reach your ultimate potential, experiencing authentic connection and spirit, then it will suck a$$.
As far as the electric cars taking over the country, not a chance...We don't have 1/3 the generating and transmission facilities to power them...In fact, many grids are on the edge of cutbacks already, as happened in Texas and California, due to the unreliability of alternative energy...It would take many trillions to build the system out, which we don't have, and decades to accomplish...Electric cars are a scam, promoted by our government with tax credits, as are totally dysfunctional windmills and solar installations, which won't even return the energy needed to build, install, maintain and recycle them...
There are a small number of people who gravitate towards certain ideas, but... "15 minute cities," "you won't eat meat, you'll eat bugs" and "CBDCs" might resonate with some people, but not all. Lots of "yeah, I'm not going to do that" on this side of the Atlantic.

So I'm not seeing much except privatization of what already exists as a possibility. And to be honest it could be better since the govt loses my payments and then charges me late fees on a regular basis.
