armstrong is okay, just another person trying to make it out there. his edge were his computer skills back when none had them in wall street at least not at his level. so, he was able to combine those two (trading and programing) and track the movement of money ... basically, who was trading ahead of the pack for smt to happen soon. therefore, being able to notice the move in advance he made a short cut and cut into their profits (the club as he calls them, which could well be true).
they didnt like that, so being between them and marty, a small patato he ended up in jail. was there for 7 years, until he got convinced there was no light at the end of his tunnel. then he changed the tune and offered his services (i suppose) and he is out and singing to the tune ... cant really blame him, he is just trying to make a living. only God will make judgements on people.

Armstrong's marketing of his black box "Socrates" is far more impressive than his actual predictive track record.

His personal conjecture has to be separated from the predictions of his AI system, as he himself has said many times.
total bs excuse. if u do basic due diligence on this guy it's all out there.
Recommend you do a deep dive on Armstrong. It's a lot different and more interesting than it appears.

I think Socrates is fake but Armstrong does have insight so I still read his blog daily.
