I have a prescription I've been taking for years. It was generic and made by the company in Canada where the owners were murdered. After that they stopped making it, it started coming from China. When I got it from the Canadian facility it worked and from the Chinese facility it doesn't (to the point it could be pill shaped flour) and I switched to something similar from a US lab and it worked fine.
So for me, I wouldn't be surprised at all that they were pulling the strings.

Which makes sense in the general sense that great power and wealth is calling the shots (culling with the shots?) and the nexus of the world’s central bankers and largest corporations & billionaires decided to deindustrialize the West and make China rich beyond all measure. Probably figured they could steal Chinese worker productivity along with the accumulated assets of the western middle classes, particularly the American. This must have been a partnership scheme from the beginning and certainly by the time china joined WTO.
Perhaps the western profiteers weren’t expecting to lose control of it allowing China to parlay those investments into a New Silk Road and Eurasian integration with China calling the shots, Russia being a hub of transit and resources (and defense/space technology). Plus misplaced belligerence towards Russia that forced Russia & China into each other’s arms, at least for now when it counts.
