Holistic physicians and naturopaths have recommended 5 mg of Lithium daily for the depression that often accompanies Lyme disease. That it is useful to avoid dementia is groundbreaking news. Thank you for sharing this information!
My friend's wife was addicted to Equal and put 3 or 4 packets in her cup of tea! She got Alzheimer's. Many chemicals chronically consumed in our food and drink cause inflammatory conditions in the brain and the immune system reacts by producing plaque to contain the condition. Also, if key brain nutrients are deficient it accelerates the process. My view.
Aluminium is also implicated in this disease too. Look up the work of Dr. Christopher Exley. He has been researching this toxic metal for decades and has found extra large amounts in the brains of those who died with autism and those who had Alzheimer's as well. This metal in the brain would cause inflammation just the same as other chemicals and excess sugars etc.
For a far better explanation to Exley google " chronic diseases associated with malassezia yeast" then google antifungal effect of lithium. The science direct article is nicely laid out for ease of reading, I would suggest you read the entire paper, if you haven't the time or inclination scroll down to where it talks of neurodegenerative diseases.
And an especially timely article/posting for me as I had just forwarded screenshots to my roommate whose mother is suffering from Alzheimers of research I did regarding the benefits of lithium to help treat dementia and Alzheimers patients. Wow, talk about synchronicity!
In case you didnβt know, about two years ago Maria Zeee from Zeee Media interviewed a gentleman who talked about using lithium to improve the cognition of those experiencing mental decline. I found this hard to believe yet he talked about the scientific studies that had been done and which showed successful outcomes. Some time ago I tried to find the interview, but couldnβt. Maybe someone out there will know of it and post the link?
It depends on how my brain is functioning. Some days I take 5mg once a day, sometimes I may take 10mg twice a day. You have to be cognizant of how your body is functioning
Fantastic article! MS was briefly mentioned. We added lithium orotate to my wife's protocol for MS and she seems less moody. In fact she is doing 1000% better since going Keto to remove the glucose and fructose from her brain. We also take Methylene Blue and iodine.

Iβve been taking lithium orotate for years
Can you share what your experience has been about this substance in light of your usage over the years?
