Thanks for this! I want to show this to my wife and I believe we will decide not to have our dogs vaccinated at their next appointment. The rabies vaccine is mandatory in my state, I believe, so that might be the hardest to avoid. We opted out of the leptospirosis vaccine last time as we felt our dogs had almost no risk of this disease. Since we have decided never to get another vaccine of any kind I think it’s only fair to our dogs to make the same decision for them.

Rabies is mandatory in NY State. We declined the booster. It's all a scam.

Sorry you live in New York. Montana has long winters but we have a lot of freedom here. I grew up in Connecticut though I wasn’t born there and was lucky enough to have lived there before it turned communist. There is no way I could live there now.

Best move you could have made. I was close by NYC and went to the same school as Jen Psaki and I am so glad I wasn't there at the same time she was.

mandatory in GA too, but ask your vet to test for antibodies and if there are enough, our vet gives us paperwork that the vaccine is still working. It is thought (and in Europe it is a fact) that the rabies vaccine lasts a lifetime. My cat in Belgium got one vaccine at age 1, oral, no injection, that was a lifelong warranty. Why don' t they have that in the US?

Why? Because $$$.

We also did not butcher our dog and kept him intact as the Europeans do. Because castrating dogs is also $$$.

and it seems that especially in female animals, they need the hormones so they won't get fat. It is very hard to keep a neutered animal slender. I talk of experience !

Male dogs should never be fixed. Cancer. Females are bit more prone to complications if not fixed but still they are better off intact. Its all a money game.

If the vet asks. Dogs are gone.

No more.

In the US it's a 1 year shot or a 3 year shot. I caught my vet trying to give my dog the rabies shot before the 3 years were up.

I am in the US, and yes there is only 1 and 3 year shots here, I have no idea why Europe has a life long vaccine that does not need injection ! Luckily our vet knows these shots work longer and checks and gives paperwork if there are enough antibodies. I am so happy to have found him!

You can buy homeopathic nosodes for rabies. Titer testing should then prove there is some immunity and this can be shown as evidence to avoid vaccinatingi
