If you want to know exactly HOW it’s done, read: The Secret Team: The CIA and Its Allies in Control of the United States and the World, Col. L. Fletcher Prouty (Amazon). He’s was horse’s mouth on the subject.

---------------------------
Col. L. Fletcher Prouty was the Pentagon liaison between the Joint Chiefs and the CIA to provide “the military support of the world-wide clandestine activities of the CIA.” [Security Council Directive 5412/2 Mar 15, 1954]. He established the Office of Special Operations, was Chief of Special Operations for Joint Chiefs, wrote the formal directive on covert ops used by Joint Chiefs for all military services.
----------------------------
Details CIA evolution, world-wide “secret team” players, initiation and approval process, lessons learned and not learned, NSC officially and unofficially, personnel placement, nothing to do with National Security. Whatever it takes to maximize profits for the organizations which call the global shots, the “Secret Team”.
Prouty's book is an eye-opener, but he never mentions the fact that most of the players on the "secret team" (Dulles, Lansdale, McNamara, etc) were also CFR members. Dulles, who also ran the CIA "Operation Mockingbird" and sat on the Warren Commission, was a CFR director for 40 years. Most of the CIA directors from Dulles to Burns have been CFR members. Likewise for the secretaries of State, Treasury, and Defense.
Hi, thanks John. I agree with your point. However, I’ll try to clarify a difference. These people were appointees of the ST power structure and knowingly functioned accordingly as tools to carry out desired ST objectives, regardless of memberships in organizations, some of which would have been part of the fluid ST. I probably scrambled that, but best I can do. Thanks again for your post.
I'm always more than a little suspicious of former operatives. There is a saying that applies to former Goldman Sachs men/women: once a GS man, always a GS man. Or words to that effect. What, may I ask, do you suppose is Col. L. Fletcher Prouty's motivation for coming clean? Without having read the book yet, I can't help suspecting it's a limited hangout.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I understand. Short answer: The Nov. 1963 assassination of JFK. Prouty resigned/retired 1964. Prouty had been tracking JFK’s decision and efforts to eliminate the CIA after it’s independent Bay of Pigs fiasco with JFK being left out of the loop. Prouty also wrote the book “JFK: The CIA, Vietnam, and the Plot to Assassinate John F. Kennedy (Second Edition)
Why did he write these books? My guess: The assassination did it. In the JFK/CIA/Vietnam/ Bay of Pigs book he was very explicit and detailed naming documents, names (great majority of which he knew personally). The book’s difficult to read as he skips back and forth, but it’s nothing but factual naming documents, people, places, dates, etc. He also, fully documents Vietnam being a planned CIA war, even detailing the shipment of US weapons, originally intended for invasion of Japan, to North Vietnam, immediately upon signing end of Japan war. Also detailed the CIA shipping at least 100,000 (as I recall) North Vietnamese farmers into South Vietnam delta region to insure war. I even had a USMA room mate who got assigned with the CIA in Vietnam. Today we’d call Prouty a “whistleblower”.
To clarify, Prouty explains how official government narrative is crafted by “Secret Team” for their profits, independent of subject, tho after his time, applies to use of pandemics.
Full agreement with 2nd Smartest.
