We don’t have a Constitution. We have a “Charter of Rights and Freedoms” that never seems to apply.

Yeah, it only protects our rights and freedoms if the government doesn't come up with 'reasonable cause' to suddenly decide that rights and freedoms are irrelevant at that moment. It's called a "notwithstanding clause".

The charter and our constitution were written by a card carrying communist turned Fabian socialist Pierre Trudeau, it does not in any way garuntee any rights or freedoms, everything relies on the Supreme Court of Canada, all the 9 judges presiding upon are " selected " by the prime minsters office not by parliament

I hope this explains why we never seem to be able to have our rights and freedoms not stomped on at a whim
