I can see that there are "human" MAC addresses just by searching in the Bluetooth on my android device, they show up as MISC instead of a brand/model number like devices. Do it in a store and you will see many of them, and maybe some devices...first time I did it in Best Buy and there were devices out the wazoo, but also many MISC. Then do it at home to confirm you don't have one...

I have an iPhone and it is definitely not picking up anything (other than obvious Bluetooth devices close by)
