Maxime Bernier was a shoe-in until Andrew Scheer took the leadership of the PCs under questionable circumstances. Bernier went off to form a new party, the PPC. Under Scheer, the PCs seemed to lean more left than right. When Scheer moved on, O'toole took the lead and seemed to be nothing more than a lacky for the left. If Canada is to have a genuine conservative party, Poillevre has a great deal of work ahead of him, not only to prove he is pro Canada nation-state, but also to steer his party's ship onto a platform that Canadians will support. As the Truckers' Convoy has so beautifully demonstrated, Canada is far less left than media would have the world believe. Unfortunately, however, the rate of blind jab acceptance would suggest much work needs to be done to rebuild Canadian society.
We tried that with Trump..., then look what they did... the media, the Dems, the rinos, the woke corps......get ready for a rerun. Hopefully you are better prepared up there :)

This new guy will be trapped like Trump and won’t be able to move left or right without permission. My friend in Canada who is a lawyer and activists says this guy is a fraud.
I am Canadian. Many years ago, PM Chretien, Liberal, promised to stop our GST tax of 15 %. He never did. So I really don't trust this man either. He seems like a WEF type to me. Canada could be well on the way to tyranny as both Trudeau and traitor Singh are members of the WEF along with Freeland and half the Liberal caucus so unless more people get involved and protest the digital ID and mandates. We can't get rid of Turdeau for 3 more years.
The Canadian system is so different. I read the next federal election will be on or before 10-20-25. What are the chances they can get Trudeau out before then?
