Maxime Bernier was a shoe-in until Andrew Scheer took the leadership of the PCs under questionable circumstances. Bernier went off to form a new party, the PPC. Under Scheer, the PCs seemed to lean more left than right. When Scheer moved on, O'toole took the lead and seemed to be nothing more than a lacky for the left. If Canada is to have a genuine conservative party, Poillevre has a great deal of work ahead of him, not only to prove he is pro Canada nation-state, but also to steer his party's ship onto a platform that Canadians will support. I am Canadian. Many years ago, PM Chretien, Liberal, promised to stop our GST tax of 15 %. He never did. So I really don't trust this man either. He seems like a WEF type to me. We can't get rid of Turdeau for 3 more years.
