The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is at a lower level, but more visible. Paul Warburg, the "architect of the Fed" was a founding CFR director. CFR Fed chairmen include: Powell, Yellen, Greenspan, Volcker, Miller, Burns, Martin, McCabe, Black, and Meyer.
Meyer was Fed chair when FDR issued the gold confiscation order in 1933. Later that year he purchased the Washington Post, which has been a CFR mouthpiece ever since.
