Great article repeating, in perfect detail, why America is heading towards communism or worse, technocracy. The sheep are many and will not understand until it’s too late. Just enough time for the demonic face of the globe to persevere. I’m exhausted trying to wake people up. 🥵

We’re seeing control right now all over the world. Even fair elections are gone. “Via other means”, isn’t working.

By putting question of free speech to a vote and assuming majority wins is not free speech, is it? Woe these people who may end up branded a domestic terrorist with fines or liberties removed for any opinion on any subject that The Ministry of Truth declares mis/disinformation. Very worrying times for real, independent journalists.

It’s definitely not free speech. In long gone days, it was called the hecklers’ veto in constitutional law and was declared unconstitutional and incompatible with the first amendment.

Now, it’s still considered incompatible but the problem is seen as the first amendment!

I’m from the UK,almost everyone I talk to hasn’t heard of WEF,think the UN is a wonderful peace keeping organisation,Bill Gates is a philanthropist, and the WHO are helping cure disease in Africa. When I mention we are about to lose our rights of free speech,(handing out leaflets about UK Gov proposals)and even sending Pfizer trials death rates to friends, they mutter it’s conspiracy theories! Also all are totally on board with man made Climate Change....

Sadly there are many who want to watch,Love Island or footy, and just trust our Gov and NHS,they just don’t understand🤯 I have now met a new group who came from a standinthepark.org and finally I realised there are many groups of people building small communities, that can support one another going forward. The strangle hold on the UK MSM is as bad as US.Luckily we have UKColumn, GBNews, and several other online Independents that are telling the truth.I was also ignorant a year ago about all these things so I do think many people will wake up as the screws are tightened. 🤞🏻it’s not too late....

The Freedom of Speech is a natural right; it cannot be granted, but it can surely be taken away.

The good news is that it can be taken away only from those, who have anything to say, which excludes the vast majority. The bad news is that is is usually taken away by those, who have nothing good to say:

The twitter poll cannot be fully relied on. Especially if it was started by a member of "the establishment" Bots can make up a considerable portion:

https://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/elon-musk-begs-bots-not-to-quit-twitter

And don't forget where that software of rigging elections was pioneered from: Computer programmer Clinton Eugene Curtis testifies in a Senate committee back in year 2004 about voting software he wrote that could flip any election 51/49 with whomever you wanted to win....you wouldn't know it without specific knowledge of the source code and/or the original votes that you could manually count. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEzY2tnwExs (4 min) Here is a telephone interview where Mr Curtis admits that the code is surprisingly easy to implement and customize this voter flipping software: https://youtu.be/2e4RzeqvG_M?t=407 (2 min)

So why can't this vote flipping algo be easily applied to twitter polls??? My point is that they are using polls like this to help shape opinions. Like how they initially said that the "jab" was 95% effective, then 90%, then 85%, then 50%, then the narrative continues to shift until it dies completely....then they just say "hey, just take it anyway". So they will start it off by saying Americans are split 52/48 for free speech....then it will be 50/50 split, then it will be 48/52 AGAINST free speech, then it will be 60/40, etc etc

They love rigging a nail biter! The documentary Hacking Democracy on HBO around 2007 proved the machines are hackable, so of course people will use this tool.

Funny thing is back then it was progressives concerned with these election hacking issues and conservatives less so. They love turning people's beliefs upside fown--like all the liberals that drive Teslas and used to love Elon but now hate him.

Let us not forget that many, many twitter users are NOT American.

We are infiltrated daily through these social media sites by millions of socialist loving Europeans, Asians, etc.

Never forget that.

Elon should ban VPN connections and make it mandatory to post a country flag next to each username showing where each person is from. This should help make it easier to dismiss foreign propaganda.

Expand full comment

Banning VPN connections would render Twitter unusable. Everyone should be using a VPN to at least attempt to keep their internet connection from prying eyes.

As for the foreign propaganda the vast majority of it is emanating from Washington D.C.

Expand full comment

I am a heavy advocate of VPN use myself, however, in the case of a service that the government ghouls seem to place so much weight on-likely due to the depth of infiltration-I think an exception could be made perhaps for a week or so just to see just how many active users whom are not American citizens are regularly trying to influence our decisions and direction.

I think it would really blow many minds to see just how many positions of influence non-Americans hold online. YouTube moderators, Reddit moderators, forum moderators, etc. in my experience tend to be largely European citizens who read and write English well and are obsessed with American culture.

Yes, I came here to make that point too.

We DO indeed have a massive free speech crisis in western culture, however a Twitter poll is probably the worst place to go for a balanced sampling of the overall society, perhaps especially on an issue like this one.

Twitter is likely to be very heavily stacked with morally-pompous, shouty lunatics. The format is built for people who just *need* to share their opinions with the world, constantly, so the user base is stacked toward higher traits of narcissism than the public baseline. Then you add in the fact that the legacy user base inherited by Elon (the one being polled in this case) have enjoyed Twitter mostly as a 'purist' lefty-liberal echo chamber for many years. So again, the deck is stacked toward the annoying-school-prefect attitudes that they think they know best, and should get to speak and decide on behalf of everyone. Of course a good chunk of them don't want Trump to speak — he says things they don't like, and he mocks moral pomposity quite remorselessly.

Such people annoy the heck out of most normal folk. They are NOT a majority. Not yet anyway. They just *seem* to be because they're the types that are most likely to grab the megaphones and starting screaming into them, and broadly speaking our media and political culture has allowed that for a number of years.

According to his own Tweet, Elon Musk is strongly suggesting that the entire Trump poll was a ruse to ferret out bots on Twitter. In the early hours the poll was above 80% in favor of getting him back. That being said Twitter is a worldwide platform so who knows what the exact stats are although I suspect the internal dashboards would reveal that number.

Fantastic Substack piece btw it’s surreal to see how badly Free Speech in America has collapsed in the last decade. I sincerely hope that the recent mass layoffs and alteration of policies and algorithms at Twitter under Musk will help to drastically alleviate tensions in the short term but it’s still only a partial fix.

If he’s serious about trying to compete with YouTube for long for video or even with Substack for hat matter with long form text then there may in fact be a hope.

That being said I think the future of Free Speech online is Urbit. Curtis Yarvin aka Mencius Moldbug who’s also on Substack as Gray Mirror was involved with it from around 2004 all the way until 2019. It’s a completely decentralized encrypted uncensorable distributed computer that you can now build apps on top of.

Balaji Srinivasan who wrote The Network State recently spoke at their conference Urbit Assembly in Miami a few weeks ago. Well worth a listen because this may be our only technological means out of this mess. When it gets to a point of having a truly decentralized encrypted version of Discord or Slack, then that’ll be the killer app.

"We are the first digital inhabitants of a universe of pure symbolic media exchange, living in an empty space of virtuality, where subjectivity and objective truth have intertwined together."

And, it's quite clear that 'we' were not prepared at all to deal with the enormous changes and departures from our need to have authenticity and critical thinking as our lighthouse. In a few short years, the reality that we once knew has been swept away and replaced with a simulation that confuses, intimidates, confounds and exasperates.

It is 'here' that the wicked, greedy and dangerous humans prosper; they have allied and are enjoying what appears to be unlimited power.

Giddy with the 'success' of the last few years will see these sociopaths keep advancing the rheostat of their wondrous digital beasts that they foolishly believe is under their control. Many will have only conformity as their option; believing that we are entering a new and better age on Earth. Many, though. will trust their highly evolved instincts and turn away from a system that promises such grandeur but displays everything that makes humanity 'ugly'.
