@Martha Rowen - I am sorry for your predicament. I fled Illinois (Chicago area) for the same reasons. I am happy here in my red state. Like you I faced an Illinois government that was held hostage to public unions. They jacked up the property taxes so high it is highway robbery. All for the union rank and file to retire with obscene amounts of money. Like NY, the IL congress-critters could care less about the people. Its all about corporations and unions. Kathy Hochul is certifiably psychotic and drunk with power. She makes Cuomo look sensible (and he wasn't). I got out of NY because of what I saw happening there. It is a dangerous(because of politicians) and expensive place to live. I suggest all that can, leave. It only seems to get worse there.

I'm a liberal, and I find this appalling. There's no way this can be constitutional. This is just like the Patriot Act, something passed in the panic of the moment that will come back to bite us down the road.
Why the panic now? Something else entirely is going on; what it is I do not know and cannot guess. Why no coverage in conservative media? My husband (more a TV news watcher than me) heard about the school nurse injections but not the rest.
