Couldn't finish Zeyi Yang's article ~ I know when I'm being fed pure propaganda.

🐂💩, Yang, we've already had a mouthful of this in Canada with ArriveCan't App, vaxxine internal travel bans, banking accounts terminated, lock downs, blatant govt discrimination against Unvaxxed, jost lost, homes lost, Chinese "unofficial police stations operating in Canada harassing Chinese Canadians, blatant election Interference, and a steady supply of fentenal from PRC govt factories. The health component alone of social credit alone is enough for govt to illegally jail citizens, shut down churches. China's lockups in Covid concentration camps, (not weld the door shut lock downs) , generate an Average fine of $41.00 per person per day, times xxxxxxxx, for innocent inmates who earn Ave $21.00 day. Social credit lockups for flu is a huge cash source for PRiC communist party. Write what you want, but you can't stop all videos from leaving China. I've seen the truth. We get govt propaganda articles like this in Canada all the time. Apparently, some people actually believe them...

It appears the author wants us to believe that social credit scores are not bad. All you have to do is listen to Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab, or Yuval Harari to know otherwise

I got to the third paragraph. I am tired of the open lies and distortions coming from virtually everywhere.

In America, they need our informed consent (with full disclosure) for virtually everything they want us to do. Without disclosure, there can be no informed consent.

I won't comply.

"I am sooo relieved" to know the ChiComs aren't using Social Credit Scoring and that the Feral Reserve Banksters HERE in the USSA aren't going to implement the same thing. (like credit card processing ALREADY denying services to online gun/ammo suppliers and local merchants)

No nationwide high-tech surveillance?? The denials were not even close to believable.

A summary from a CSET analyst, Georgetown University, March 2021, described several "overlapping and intersecting technological surveillance projects built by the Chinese government over the last two decades [since 2003]."

There's The Golden Shield Project, run by the CCP Ministry of Public Security -- "responsible for the country’s strict internet censorship.... Police would be dispatched if someone who had been blacklisted tried to book a bus, train, or airline ticket."

There's SkyNet, probably the best known system, which runs cameras connected to facial recognition algorithms. "Chinese state-run media has claimed Skynet can scan the entire Chinese population in one second with 99.8 percent accuracy."

The report goes on to say that this is an unlikely success rate, but it proves that the idea of a nationwide Chinese surveillance system using AI and algorithms is not a figment of the Western imagination.

The worst is "Sharp Eyes". The name was borrowed from Chairman Mao, who wrote that “the people have sharp eyes” when spotting others not living up to communist values.

This system recruits rural citizens to spy on their neighbors in real-time: "Through special TV boxes installed in their homes, local residents could watch live security footage and press a button to summon police if they saw anything amiss."

"China’s 2016 five-year plan set a goal for Sharp Eyes to achieve 100% coverage of China’s public spaces in 2020. Though publicly available reports don’t indicate whether the program has hit that goal — they suggest that [as of early 2021] the country has gotten very close."

Again, it's the CCP bragging about the scope of their ability to electronically stalk their citizens, not a Western "myth".

So, applying what SG the 2nd wrote in the intro... in publishing this smoke-and-mirrors piece, the MIT Tech Review "is either hopelessly naive or working for the CCP."

Et tu, MIT??? How the mighty have fallen....

To me, this article pretty much says yes and then again no; sorta, kinda, more or less...maybe!

Control systems like these will ultimately destroy society as it destroys private rights, obligations and ownership. What is the point of being innovative when everything you do is exposed and controlled.

👍Aye, my father too. The "Archie Bunker" opinions ridiculed by MSM for 5 decades have turned out to be pretty much correct. I have a couple of friends, group of citizens living across China who VPN video of what I can only call hell on earth. If you're not a member of the commie cult👁️ like Mr. Yang your chain here, you're just working cattle/chattle. Suicide is the real epidemic in China. Many are just giving up...
