A few days ago, I received an email from a friend with a INVITE. I thought it was legitimate because she regularly sends out invitations for a block party. I clicked on it and my emails addresses were stolen. So, all my email friends got a Invite.? The INVITE was for 9/11. I had a security check run on my laptop via remote access and it was cleansed of all temporary files. My concern is was there a ticking temporary file that would be released on 9/11 which would erase all my files.? Just wondering if anyone else had this experience. Bottom line is: can the cyber world AI be used to destroy. This researcher may be correct.
Thomas - I have gotten two such "invitations". One very recently from a friend & one about a year ago from another friend. Both went to my spam folder. The first one I thought was legit & clicked on it. Nor sure what happened as a result. The other one I deleted & let my friend know that an "invitation" had been sent from one of his e-mail addresses. There certainly is no shortage of dirtbags out there in cyberland, that is for sure.
