The points summarised are as follows:

1. The U.S. and Iran, and their allies in the current war, by signing this MoU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon.

2. The U.S. and Iran will respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.

3. The U.S. and Iran commit to achieving a final deal in a maximum of 60 days, extendable with mutual consent.

4. The U.S. will immediately begin the removal of its naval blockade and any disturbances or impediments against Iran, and will fully end the naval blockade within 30 days. During this period, the traffic will be in proportion to the number of pre-war traffic being restored by Iran. The U.S. further undertakes to remove its military forces from the proximity of Iran within 30 days after the final deal.

5. Iran will make arrangements for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge for 60 days from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman, and vice versa. The traffic of commercial vessels will immediately start, considering the need for removing the technical and military obstacles and demining, within 30 days. Iran will conduct a dialogue with Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf littoral states in line with international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz.

6. The U.S. undertakes with its regional partners to develop a definitive, mutually agreed plan with at least USD 300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of Iran, as part of the final deal after 60 days. All required licenses, waivers, and permissions will be granted.

7. The U.S. will terminate all types of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the UNSC resolutions, IAEA Board of Governors resolutions, and all unilateral US sanctions, primary and secondary, in an agreed-upon schedule as part of the final deal.

8. Iran reaffirms that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons. The U.S. and Iran have agreed to resolve the disposition of stockpile enriched materials, pursuant to a mechanism that will be mutually agreed upon in accordance with the schedule mentioned in paragraph seven, with at a minimum a downblending on site under the supervision of the IAEA. The two parties also agreed to discuss the issue of enrichment and other mutually agreed matters related to Iran’s nuclear needs.

9. Pending the final deal, the U.S. and Iran agree to maintain the status quo. Iran will maintain the current status quo of its nuclear program, and the U.S. will not impose any new sanctions and will not deploy additional forces in the region.

10. The U.S. undertakes that immediately upon the signing of this MoU, waivers will be issued for the export of Iranian crude oil, petroleum products, and derivatives, and all associated services, including banking transactions, insurances, transportation, etc.

11. The U.S. undertakes to make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds of the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the implementation of this MoU. The U.S. and Iran will mutually agree on the procedures related to the release of these funds during the negotiations.

12. A monitoring mechanism will be established to supervise the implementation of this MoU and the subsequent deal.

13. After signing this MoU and subject to the beginning of the implementation of paragraphs 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11, and the continuing implementation of these measures, the U.S. and Iran will start negotiations regarding the final deal.

14. The final deal will be endorsed by a UNSC Resolution.

Osseous metastases T4 vertebral body and left posterior iliac.

She was getting ready to start chemotherapy, when I met her and spoke to her about IverX and FenbenX and I gave her instructions how to take them in combination of her treatment.

She started your products prior to start chemotherapy and faithfully continued throughout the whole process.

She started chemotherapy on 8/13/25, by 10/13/25, her PET scan revealed:

“Resolution of the previously seen hypermetabolic bilateral cervical neck, mediastinal, right axillary, and abdominal pelvic adenopathy as well as resolution of the previously seen activity in the T4 vertebral body and left posterior iliac as described above; consistent with an excellent therapeutic response. Therefore, we propose that IVM might be used clinically as a therapy to resolve the MDR problem, given that IVM has already been approved in human use.

Do you need a booster? Is the Tdap in pregnancy safe?

Note: This article is about tetanus. There is no such thing as a “tetanus shot” anymore. The manufacturers stopped making the single tetanus shot in 2012. Since that time, getting a “tetanus shot” means getting either a DTaP or Tdap, depending on the person’s age, with DTaP being the option for infants and children up to age 7 years. Tdap is the version that is given to adults and children aged 7 and up. Tdap is also the one given to pregnant women. Because we cannot talk about the “tetanus shot” without discussing DTaP and Tdap, this article presents information about the childhood and adult vaccines, focusing more on the Tdap, particularly with regard to “tetanus boosters” and Tdap given to pregnant women.

“Help! My child cut herself on a piece of broken glass while washing dishes and she needs stitches. We are in the Emergency Room. They want to give her a tetanus shot. I’m scared. We don’t vaccinate, but the thought of tetanus is terrifying! What should I do???”

“Help! My husband was building a fence in the backyard of our suburban home, and he stepped on one of the nails. It went through his tennis shoe and left a puncture wound in his foot. It bled a lot, but we are concerned about infection, so we went to the doctor just to be sure he doesn’t need an antibiotic. They want to give him a tetanus shot. It was a new nail, purchased last week from Home Depot. Does he need a tetanus shot??”

And my personal favorite…

“My thirteen-year-old got stung by a bee. The pediatrician wants to give him a tetanus shot. Do bee stings cause tetanus???”

Why in the world would a “tetanus shot” be given after a bee sting, you may ask? Because it is recommended. Apparently, that recommendation comes from an article published in 1879, which reported on a case of tetanus in a 34-year-old man who developed tetanus and who also had been stung by a bee “a couple of weeks prior.”

Well. That IS terrifying. Of course, we don’t know what John B. did during those weeks after the bee sting and prior to the onset of tetanus. Given that it was 1879 - prior to the invention of cars, and during a time when manure from horses was literally everywhere… and given the high probability that he did not have any antibiotic ointment or a band-aid to cover the sting, one might surmise that it was not the sting itself that caused the tetanus. It is likely that at some point following the sting, John B. was in the presence of horse manure, which he would have likely come into contact in if he walked anywhere or if he, himself owned a horse. If he set foot in the streets of any Northeastern city, he would have certainly gotten horse manure on his boots, and very likely on his clothing from the mixture of mud and manure that was everywhere in the streets of Boston, New York, and other major cities in the Northeastern United States at the time.

The scenarios quoted at the beginning of this article are illustrative of some of the many messages I have received through Facebook Messenger over the last fourteen years, since I started writing on FB about vaccines. Many people who do not vaccinate themselves or their children are terrified of tetanus. I have lost track of the number of times I have heard, “Tetanus is the ONE thing I’m really concerned about.” This statement often comes from friends who live on farms, who have horses and cows, or whose children participate in horseback riding as an activity. Because tetanus bacteria lives in the fecal matter of horses, cows, and other large mammals, the increased concern about tetanus in these environments is justified. The many questions I have received about tetanus have spurred a few Facebook posts like this one:

Did vaccines save us from tetanus?

As is the case with all “vaccine preventable” infections, those who benefit from the sale and uptake of vaccines try to take credit for the reduction in cases and deaths from tetanus. As this graph, from the Circle of Mamas article linked above shows, vaccines did not save us from tetanus.

The graph above is not an isolated scenario. As the two graphs below show, the decline in deaths from infectious diseases had little to do with vaccination, and a lot to do with improvements in sanitation (no more manure in the street, improvements in plumbing and clean water), and improvements in living conditions and nutrition. A really good resource for learning about this is the book, “Dissolving Illusions” by Dr. Suzanne Humphries and Roman Bystrianyk. If you want to take a quick look at the living conditions in American cities during the latter part of the 1800s, this is a great website. One quick perusal and you will easily see why infectious diseases were rampant in places like New York City and Boston prior to 1900s.

Note: Pertussis (whooping cough) and influenza are just two examples of infectious diseases for which the death rate had dropped more than 98% prior to the release of the vaccine that is said to have resulted in the reduction of deaths from said infection. When considering whether or not you should get a vaccine, you really should do a cost-benefit analysis that includes looking at the risk of serious outcomes, including death from the infection vs. the risks of serious outcomes, including death, from taking the vaccine.

What are your chances of dying from tetanus if you currently live in the United States?

“Since 1999, the number of deaths caused by tetanus in the United States has not exceeded 10 in a given year. This statistic shows the number of deaths caused by tetanus in the U.S. from 1990 to 2019.” (source)

As the above graph shows, the yearly average number of deaths from tetanus in the U.S. over the last twenty years is 7.5. In order to calculate your risk of death from tetanus, we need to know how many people live in the United States. According to the 2020 census data, that number is 329.5 million.

Dividing 329,500,000 (the number of people living in the U.S.) by 7.5 (the yearly average of deaths from tetanus) yields the following:

Your odds of dying from tetanus if you live in the United States are 1 in 43,933,333.333. Roughly, 1 in 44 million. Have you ever heard the ridiculous statement that serious vaccine injuries are 1 in a million? IF that were true (it’s not… ), that would mean your odds of serious injury from “tetanus” vaccination would be 44 times higher than your odds of dying from tetanus.

Tetanus is still a scary thing for some people. Part of the reason is because we have been told there is no cure for tetanus. Here is what the Mayo Clinic has to say:

Tetanus is a serious disease of the nervous system caused by a toxin-producing bacterium. The disease causes muscle contractions, particularly of your jaw and neck muscles. Tetanus is commonly known as lockjaw.

Severe complications of tetanus can be life-threatening. There’s no cure for tetanus. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms and complications until the effects of the tetanus toxin resolve.

Because of the widespread use of vaccines, cases of tetanus are rare in the United States and other parts of the developed world. The disease remains a threat to people who aren’t up to date on their vaccinations. It’s more common in developing countries. (source)

Is it true there is no cure for tetanus? No.

In this study, IV vitamin C (one gram per day) resulted in a 100% reduction in case-fatality rate in patients 12 years and under, and a 45% reduction in case-fatality rate in patients aged 13-30 years. The lower efficacy in older teens and adults is most likely because the dose was not high enough.

But my doctor says I need a booster every 10 years. Is this true? NO.

Here is the study.

Given that the World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend tetanus boosters AT ALL for adults who have received the initial childhood series, why does the CDC continue to recommend boosters every ten years?

That’s right. The authors of the study suggest changing the adult schedule to recommend boosters every 30 years instead of every 10 years, as is currently recommended. They note that doing so would save an estimated $280 million per year and over $1 Billion in health costs over four years.

That recommendation was made in 2016. Eight years ago. Nothing has changed. And the reason is because the pharmaceutical industry and their minions in the government agencies that make the recommendations don’t care about the health (physical or financial) of America or our citizens. The $2 Billion that could have been saved went into their pockets.

What we know so far…

• If you live in the United States (or other developed nations) your risk of dying from tetanus is roughly 1 in 44 million.

• Vaccines had little to do with the reduction of death from tetanus. Improvements in sanitation, the invention of the automobile, and the resulting the shift away from horse poop in the streets had a lot more to do with the reduction in cases and deaths from tetanus.

• The pharmaceutical lobby and the U.S. government agencies who benefit financially from the sales of vaccines and who also make the recommendations for their use, via the child and adult schedules have chosen to ignore the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and scientific studies that show there is ZERO need for tetanus boosters every ten years, and in continuing to recommend boosters every ten years, they have increased their sales by an estimated $2 Billion over the last 8 years. For something that is completely unnecessary, and which is not without significant risk.

What ingredients of concern are found in tetanus-containing vaccines?

Here is where you can find the vaccine manufacturer’s inserts for all licensed vaccines in the United States. And below are links to the DTaP and Tdap vaccines, which is what you will receive if you consent to a “tetanus shot:”

DTaP Vaccines:

• Infanrix: 500 micrograms (mcg.) aluminum hydroxide, </= 100 mcg. formaldehyde, </= 100 mcg. Polysorbate 80 (TWEEN).

• DAPTACEL: 1.5 mg aluminum phosphate (333 mcg. of aluminum), ≤5 mcg formaldehyde, <50 ng residual glutaraldehyde and 3.3 mg (0.6% v/v) 2-phenoxyethanol.

Tdap Vaccines:

• Adacel: 1.5 mg aluminum phosphate (333 mcg. of aluminum), ≤5 mcg formaldehyde, <50 ng residual glutaraldehyde and 3.3 mg (0.6% v/v) 2-phenoxyethanol.

• Boostrix: 300 micrograms (mcg.) aluminum hydroxide, </= 100 mcg. formaldehyde, </= 100 mcg. Polysorbate 80 (TWEEN).

Occasionally, I will hear someone recommend getting the TD booster, which is Tetanus and Diphtheria, without the pertussis component. The TD vaccine information is listed below:

• TDVAX: aluminum adjuvant (not more than 0.53 mg [530 mcg.] aluminum by assay), < 100 mcg of formaldehyde, trace amount of thimerosal [46.9% mercury, (< 0.3 mcg mercury/dose)]

• TENIVAC: 1.5 mg of aluminum phosphate (0.330 mcg of aluminum) and ≤5.0 mcg of formaldehyde

As you can see, ALL of the available options contain high amounts of aluminum, with each 0.5 mL dose boasting between 330 and 530 micrograms. Aluminum is used as an adjuvant to cause an inflammatory response, which increases the immune response. You should also know that all of the DTaP, Tdap, and DT vaccines are cultured on casamino acids - cow’s milk protein, and the final product, which is injected into babies, infants, children, and adults, contains cow’s milk protein.

Deaths from Tetanus Containing Vaccines

I just did a quick search of the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) to see how many deaths from Tetanus containing vaccines have been reported.

3,209 deaths have been reported to VAERS from Tetanus containing vaccines.

Here is the breakdown by age:

As you consider these numbers, keep in mind that according to a study commissioned by HHS and CDC, conducted between 2007-2010 by Harvard Pilgrim Research Group, less than 1% of even the most serious adverse reactions to vaccines are reported. Let that sink in.

One reason people die from the vaccine is anaphylaxis – a severe allergic reaction to a component of the vaccine. The vaccine-manufacturer’s inserts warn about this, and they state that anyone who has had a previous severe reaction or who has a known allergy to ANY of the vaccine’s ingredients should not receive the vaccine.

How many people do you know with allergies to cow’s milk? There are a lot of them. My daughter is one of them. She nearly died in my arms three hours after a Tdap at age fifteen. I was bullied into giving her a “tetanus shot.” At that time, I didn’t know the information I am giving to you.

This article reports on the observations of a group of physicians who witnessed several cases of anaphylaxis in their patients, following administration of the DTaP vaccine. (Note: The online report states the children received DPT vaccine. This is an error, since the DPT vaccine was no longer in use in the U.S. at the time.) The doctors presented their observations at an annual meeting of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology in 2011. What I find most interesting is that initially, the doctors (who are trained in allergy and immunology) were shocked to find milk protein in the vaccines they tested. They thought it was due to contamination. They knew that food proteins are not supposed to be injected into the body – they’re supposed to go through the gastrointestinal tract where they can be appropriately broken down. Injecting food proteins into the blood is THE WAY to create serious food allergies and anaphylaxis, and this has been known since the early 1900s and the work of Charles Richet - work for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1913. Well, guess what? It wasn’t contamination. This problem - anaphylaxis from DTaP and Tdap vaccines in people with milk allergies - has been known since at least 2011. Have you heard anything about it? Has your doctor asked if you or your child have a milk allergy before recommending the DTaP or Tdap vaccine? Our doctor knew of my daughter’s milk allergy, but he recommended (pushed) for her to get the Tdap anyway. Why would he do that? He didn’t know. He had never read the manufacturer’s insert, and he didn’t know what he was injecting into my child.

What about Tdap vaccines given to pregnant women? Are they proven to be safe?

The CDC recommends Tdap vaccines during each pregnancy, on the theory that doing so provides “passive” immunity from pertussis to the baby during the first few months of life. However, scientific evidence actually shows that vaccinating the mother during pregnancy has the opposite of the intended effect, with maternal antibodies interfering with the response to vaccines given in infancy and beyond.

Has the Tdap vaccine been adequately studied for use in pregnancy? NO.

That’s not what your OB/GYN says? That’s because medical doctors (in general) don’t read a lot of research. When they do, they tend to read the abstracts and conclusions. They generally skip over the methods section because medical doctors are not experts in statistics and they (often) don’t understand the methods section. For those who are not familiar with reading published research, the methods section is where you may find things that are very relevant but may be left out of the abstract and conclusions sections (i.e., they are often hidden because their inclusion would not suit the desired outcome or interpretation of the study). Here is an example of the research that has been published for the purpose of showing that Tdap is “safe” in pregnancy…

If you pull up the study on PubMed, this is what you will see:

Whew! Reading that, we can be reassured that recurrent Tdap administration in pregnancy is safe, right?

Not so fast…

If you go to the “full text links” and click to read the full study, you can see the methods section. Full texts are often not available without paying for the article. The average price to obtain the article if you cannot access it through your institution/hospital/university can run anywhere from $35 to $80. This one is free, thankfully. Here is where you can find it.

From the methods section:

So, they started out with 633,542 pregnancies in their available pool of study subjects. They eliminated 189,768 pregnancies because they did not end in a live birth.

They eliminated nearly 200,000 pregnancies from their analysis because they did not end in a live birth. Among those pregnancies they eliminated were women who received a Tdap vaccine (and had received Tdap previously) and whose pregnancies ended in miscarriage (spontaneous abortion) and stillbirth. And their rationale for eliminating them was because “we didn’t have the resources to study that.” And then they have the GALL to report that repeated Tdap in pregnancy is “safe.”

One of the most important things to know, if you are considering receiving Tdap vaccination with every pregnancy, or even with ONE pregnancy, is whether or not doing so increases your risk of miscarriage or stillbirth. Yet, in this very large study, the researchers chose to exclude those women whose babies did not survive after their mothers were injected with Tdap vaccine. Why would they do that? Is it true that they “didn’t have the resources?” One bit of information we can look at to give us a clue about why they might have chosen not to study the most important safety outcomes is the Conflict-of-interest statement, which tells us who funded the research.

Here it is:

Who makes the Tdap vaccines that are given to pregnant women? In the United States, there are two options. Adacel is made by Sanofi Pasteur and Boostrix is made by GlaxoSmithKline.

The private sector cost of a single dose of Adacel is $47.83. Boostrix is $47.39. There are approximately 4 million babies born each year in the United States. This number does not include miscarriages or stillbirths. For ease of calculation, I will use the 4 million live births as the multiplier, and I will average the cost of Tdap at $47.50 per dose.

4,000,000 x $47.50 = $190,000,000

I would say that a hundred and ninety million dollars in sales per year is a very strong motivator that could have influenced the researchers to ensure their findings state that the Tdap vaccine in every pregnancy is “safe.”

Money is a very strong motivator for nefarious behavior in the research sector. But is it the only motivator? Is the money to be made from injecting pregnant women the only motivating factor for doing so? Are there other possible reasons for the increased push for Tdap vaccine, not only in pregnant women, but also in adolescents and young women? When we consider that the World Health Organization does NOT recommend boosters AT ALL after the initial childhood series (five shots between 2 months and age 4-6 years), and when we consider that the United States continues to push for Tdap in adolescence and every ten years after, if the motivation is not money alone, what is it?

Okay. That’s just nuts, right? Is there any documentation to support Dr. Madej’s claims? Yes.

As this article reports, in 2014, a mass vaccination campaign sponsored by WHO and UNICEF targeted 2.3 million Kenyan girls for vaccination against tetanus. The Catholic Doctors in the area got suspicious because the tetanus campaign was ONLY targeting girls and women, so they procured some of the shots and had them analyzed. They found HCG antigen, which is used in anti-fertility vaccines.

According to a statement released Tuesday by the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, the organization has found an antigen that causes miscarriages in a vaccine being administered to 2.3 million girls and women by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Priests throughout Kenya reportedly are advising their congregations to refuse the vaccine.

“We sent six samples from around Kenya to laboratories in South Africa. They tested positive for the HCG antigen,” Dr. Muhame Ngare of the Mercy Medical Centre in Nairobi told LifeSiteNews. “They were all laced with HCG.”

Dr. Ngare, spokesman for the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, stated in a bulletin released November 4, “This proved right our worst fears; that this WHO campaign is not about eradicating neonatal tetanus but a well-coordinated forceful population control mass sterilization exercise using a proven fertility regulating vaccine. This evidence was presented to the Ministry of Health before the third round of immunization but was ignored.”(source)

Recap: What we know about tetanus-containing vaccines…

• All of the tetanus-containing vaccines contain aluminum and formaldehyde. Some also contain polysorbate 80 and mercury in the form of Thimerosal.

• All tetanus-containing vaccines contain casamino acid from cow’s milk and present an elevated risk of anaphylaxis in children and adults who have allergies to cow’s milk.

• The WHO does not recommend boosters of tetanus-containing vaccines after the initial five-shot series in childhood, and the published science indicates that there is ZERO difference in the incidence of tetanus in countries that give boosters vs. countries that don’t.

• Changing the recommendations for boosters to every 30 years instead of every ten years would result in a savings of $1 Billion over four years.

• The study that recommended changing to 30 years was published 8 years ago. If the United States had altered the recommended schedule based on the science, there would have already been a savings of $2 Billion.

• The push for Tdap vaccine in every pregnancy is not based on adequate safety science, and there appear to be financial motives for not doing solid science, given that the manipulated studies are funded by the pharmaceutical companies that produce the vaccines.

• Money does not appear to be the only motivating factor in the decision to continue promoting Tdap in pregnancy and in adolescence, with documentation that the Tdap vaccine has been used as a sterilization vaccine in other countries, without the knowledge or consent of the citizens who live in those countries. Is this the case in the United States, too??

Given that the research that is being used to demonstrate “safety” of the Tdap vaccine in pregnancy eliminated any pregnancies that ended in spontaneous abortion/miscarriage or stillbirth, if you are being pressured to get this vaccine while pregnant, I strongly urge you to read this article:

Doxycycline and minocycline were introduced into medicine as more potent, active, and stable semisynthetic tetracycline antibiotics. In general, the incidence of adverse effects caused by minocycline and doxycycline is very low. In addition, they show many non-antibiotic properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, immunomodulatory, and anticancer effects. (1, 2) Recently published studies and analyses considered the repurposing of minocycline and doxycycline as anti-melanoma agents. (3, 4)

Anticancer pathways and mechanisms

Preclinical and early clinical work suggest several potential anti‑cancer actions (see Figure 1):

• Inhibition of mitochondrial biogenesis: doxycycline blocks mitochondrial protein synthesis (because mitochondrial ribosomes resemble bacterial ribosomes), which can reduce ATP production and slow proliferation in various cancer cell lines.(5)

• Targeting cancer stem cells (CSCs): multiple groups report that doxycycline reduces CSC markers and self‑renewal in breast and other cancer models, which could lower risk of relapse and metastasis.(6)

• Modulation of metabolism: by forcing cells into a more glycolytic, energy‑stressed state, doxycycline may sensitize them to other therapies, including chemotherapy and metabolic drugs.(7)

• Antimetastatic and microenvironment effects: doxycycline can inhibit matrix metalloproteinases and appears to affect stromal markers such as Caveolin‑1 and MCT transporters that are linked to tumor progression.

Mechanisms of the anticancer activity of doxycycline and minocycline involve reduction of STAT3 phosphorylation, prevention of NF-ΚB activation, repression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) - α expression and inhibition of matrix metalloproteinases. (2, 8) Minocycline and doxycycline have been demonstrated to exert anti-melanoma effects. (3, 4) These drugs inhibited cell proliferation, decreased cell viability, and induced apoptosis. Rok et al demonstrated similar findings in amelanotic melanoma cells. (1) In this study, the treatment caused changes in the cell cycle profile and decreased the intracellular level of reduced thiols and mitochondrial membrane potential. In addition, exposure of melanoma cells to minocycline and doxycycline triggered the release of cytochrome c and activated initiator and effector caspases. In this study, doxycycline was a more potent drug than minocycline in mediating these anticancer effects.

Doxycycline blocks the activity of metalloproteinases, which would otherwise be involved in the breakdown of the extracellular matrix that allows individual cancer cells to break free and seed new metastatic cancer growth around the body. Considering the potent inhibitory effects of tetracyclines against metalloproteinases, their anticancer potential has been studied in a variety of cancers, including melanoma, lung, breast, and prostate cancers. (9) When combined with celecoxib, minocycline inhibited the osseous metastasis of breast cancer in nude (hairless) mice, by increasing tumor cell death and decreasing tumor expression of MMP-9 and VEGF. (10) Minocycline has been shown to inhibit in vitro invasion and experimental pulmonary metastasis in mouse renal adenocarcinoma. In addition, these drugs have been demonstrated to inhibit angiogenesis in vitro by a non-metalloproteinase-dependent mechanism. (11)

Weiler et al demonstrated that minocycline inhibited the TNF-α-induced fusion of cancer cells with breast epithelial cells; (8) this may have an important role in limited metastatic cancer spread. Minocycline has been demonstrated to act synergistically with cisplatin in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. (12) Anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic properties of minocycline have also been demonstrated in various other types of cancer, including renal adenocarcinoma, (13) breast cancer, (10) and malignant gliomas. (14)

Doxycycline + vitamin C combination (“synthetic lethal” idea)

A key lab paper proposed a two‑hit “metabolic” strategy: doxycycline first forces cancer stem cells to rely almost entirely on glycolysis by inhibiting mitochondrial biogenesis, then vitamin C targets glycolysis (especially GAPDH), leading to an energetic crisis and death of these cells.(7) In cell culture, cancer stem cells pretreated with doxycycline became 4–10 times more sensitive to vitamin C; vitamin C at 100–250 μM markedly reduced their ability to propagate.(7) Another in‑vitro study found that a triple combination of doxycycline, azithromycin, and vitamin C inhibited CSC propagation by more than 90% in an ER‑positive breast cancer cell line, mainly by suppressing mitochondrial respiration and ATP production.(15) These findings are all preclinical (cell lines, some mouse data), and there are currently no well‑controlled human trials showing that doxycycline plus vitamin C cure or reliably control cancer. This approach does appear to be clinically feasible as a1- 2g dose of oral vitamin C would achieve the blood levels (100-250 uM) required for this interaction. Doxycycline 100 mg PLUS 1-2 g vitamin C can be considered in patients with poorly responsive disease.

Clinical studies

Ongoing clinical trials are evaluating the role of doxycycline in various tumors. In a small pre‑operative breast cancer pilot study (200 mg/day for 2 weeks), doxycycline reduced markers of CSCs (CD44 and ALDH1) in tumor tissue, suggesting it can deplete this resistant subpopulation in patients.(6) Currently evidence of clinical benefit (tumor shrinkage, survival) from doxycycline in solid tumors is lacking. However, doxycycline, was one of the four drugs included in the successful METRICS study. (16)

Types of cancers doxycycline may be beneficial for

Despite the absence of clinical data, doxycycline may have clinical efficacy in the following cancers: melanoma, renal adenocarcinoma, breast cancer, prostate, and malignant gliomas.

Dosing and cautions

The optimal dose and duration of therapy with doxycycline is unknown. The standard dose of doxycycline used in clinical trials is 100 mg twice daily for 12 weeks (ClinTrials.gov). In the METRICS cancer study, doxycycline was given at 100 mg once daily, continuously, alongside the other repurposed metabolic agents for as long as patients remained on the METRICS regimen.

Serious adverse effects are uncommon, with the most common adverse effects being headache and nausea. The effects of doxycycline on the microbiome appear to depend on the dose and duration of therapy. Doxycycline is generally well tolerated clinically, but it is not microbiologically neutral: it can deplete beneficial gut bacteria and select for tetracycline‑resistant strains. Long‑term or repeated courses (months) are more likely to reduce beneficial taxa, lower diversity, and enrich resistant organisms, and these effects can outlast the treatment period. A 100 mg dose is likely to have a lesser detrimental effect on the microbiome. Doxycycline should be rotated monthly with mebendazole (see post on cancer resistance).

My Take…

CBD and Cancer Treatment is a very complicated topic.

According to a review by Seltzer et al (2020): “There is extensive preclinical research indicating CBD as an efficacious anti-cancer agent either alone or in conjunction with other cannabinoids, chemotherapies, and radiation therapy”

Animal cancer models show CBD has ability to inhibit progression of glioblastoma, breast, lung, prostate, colon cancer and melanoma.

Very few human studies, but there is a case series (2019, Likar et al) of 9 brain cancer patients who responded extremely well to 400 mg of pure CBD per day, with 8 of 9 still alive and mean survival time of 22 months, which is longer than expected.

Here are the cancers that might best benefit from CBD and/or CBD Oil:

1. Brain Cancer - this is the best studied cancer with CBD. Given the lack of treatment options, adding CBD here is a no brainer. The 2nd most common COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Induced Turbo Cancer is glioblastoma and it has an even worse prognosis than normal glioblastomas. But whether mRNA vaxxed or unvaxxed, adding CBD is an almost definite “yes” to any treatment regimen.

2. Breast Cancer - 2nd best studied cancer with CBD. There has been a surge of recent research with CBD in breast cancer including the most aggressive type: Triple negative breast cancer. The 3rd most common COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Induced Turbo Cancer is breast cancer (typically triple negative, but not always). CBD also improves efficacy of chemo in breast cancer. Adding CBD to a treatment regimen for very advanced cases is very reasonable and logical.

3. Lung Cancer - there is a 2019 case report of a 81M with advanced lung cancer who was denied chemorad and treated himself with 2% CBD Oil and achieving tumor shrinkage a year later (Sule-Suso et al). It’s not much but it’s something. Lung cancer is in the top 5 mRNA Induced Turbo Cancers and they are very nasty with a poor prognosis. I’ve seen many 30 year olds presenting with Stage 4 Lung Cancer - CBD may be an interesting alternative treatment addition.

4. Colon Cancer - there is extensive preclinical research but lack of any reports in humans. There are 8 animal studies and all showed decrease in size of tumor (source). CBD can also overcome resistance to chemo. Colon cancer is in the top 5 mRNA Induced Turbo Cancers - I would consider adding CBD in desperate cases with an understanding that all the evidence is preclinical, but animal models are very promising.

5. Prostate Cancer - again, extensive preclinical research but nothing in humans. There are 6 animal studies with CBD and all showed decrease in size of tumor (source). In vitro studies also show decrease in invasiveness of prostate cancer. Would consider adding CBD in advanced or desperate cases.

It’s about being healthy not high.

How is hemp different from marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are different varieties of Cannabis Sativa, a diecious, flowering herb indigenous to many parts of the world. “Marijuana” is cultivated for high levels of THC, which is concentrated mostly in the flowers and trichomes of the plant.1 Industrial hemp is cultivated for its fiber, and has trace levels of THC and comparatively higher levels of CBD. Hemp has been grown and cultivated worldwide for thousands of years for industrial and medical purposes, making useful items like rope, clothing, sails, paper, and thousands of other products. Hemp will not make you “high”2 and, in fact, hemp contains almost every dietary essential we can’t make ourselves.

The industrial hemp plant—although it contains little THC—has fallen victim to its close resemblance to marijuana. Other than a brief period during World War II, hemp has not been grown in the US since the 1930s4—with the exception of a USDA field grown in 1994 in Imperial Valley, California. This USDA-grown field was the product of the hard work of Christopher Boucher, who continues to be a modern-day hemp industry pioneer.5 While permits to grow hemp are technically available from the US government, and certain states have passed laws allowing hemp to grow as an agricultural commodity, no permit to grow hemp has ever been issued by the DEA.6

Why would hemp (instead of marijuana) be grown for cannabidiol (CBD)?

Hemp is cannabis that grows as nature intended. Hemp is naturally rich in cannabidiol and low in THC. Most marijuana is carefully cultivated to be just the opposite: high in THC and low in CBD. When hemp is grown from specific cannabis varieties that have even higher levels of CBD naturally, it doesn’t make legal or practical sense to obtain CBD from marijuana.

Through a combination of special plant cultivars, advanced plant genetics and growing techniques, an exceptionally high percentage of CBD can be produced naturally and consistently in the hemp plant. Through the application of proprietary technologies, certain companies have perfected a means of extracting CBD from hemp with an almost 99% purity rate, creating legal and non-psychoactive CBD-rich hemp oil. Because the federal government considers hemp distinct from marijuana, cannabinoids found naturally in hemp oil and hemp products face no legal restrictions and may be freely imported to the United States and in most of the industrialized world.7 When derived from hemp, CBD-rich oil is the best way to obtain the benefits of the cannabis plant legally.

If one ingests CBD-rich hemp oil, will they fail a drug test?

It is unlikely, and here’s the science: Immunoassays developed to detect THC metabolites usually have certain degrees of cross-reactivity with CBN (another cannabinoid), but have minimal or no detectable level of cross-reactivity with the ring-opened compounds such as CBD, CBC (cannabichromene), and CBG (cannabigerol). This means that CBD can adopt a very different conformation compared to THC. This ring-opened property of CBD causes the antibodies to not recognize the molecule and, therefore, CBD itself cannot trigger a positive result on a drug test. However, all hemp products contain trace amounts of THC and other cannabinoids that may be detected on sensitive drug screening tests. It is always wise to consult with your employer or with the testing providers themselves to determine the best way to adhere to specific substance testing requirements. For example, there are many employers who recommend that employees avoid poppy seeds and hemp products because of the potential that they could trigger a “false positive” test result.

Cannabidiol (CBD)

CBD is the second most prominent naturally occurring cannabinoid found in cannabis, comprising up to 40% of the plant.8

After THC (∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is by far the most studied natural cannabinoid and is the cannabinoid that possesses the greatest therapeutic potential. According to manyscientists, physicians and researchers, CBD may be the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered.

Cannabidiol was first isolated in the 1930s and 1940s. Its structure and configuration were fully described in the1960s by Professor Raphael Mechoulam and his team of researchers in Israel. PubMed.gov—a service of the National Institutes of Health—has indexed over 1,100 studies on cannabidiol.9

Cannabidiol is “a cannabinoid devoid of psychoactive effect,”10 and may have broad clinical potential for a wide spectrum of ailments. CBD has been shown, in clinical settings, to alleviate symptoms associated with:

• Nausea • Metastasis of certain cancers

In fact, hundreds of peer-reviewed studies indicate that CBD possesses rich clinical potential. A literature review from 2009 recapped CBD’s therapeutic capabilities:

CBD: Nature’s Supplement

In 2003, the US government patented CBD for medical use (more on that later) and made the following claims:

“CBD is a method of treating diseases caused by oxidative stress, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a cannabinoid that has substantially no binding to the NMDA receptor to a subject who has a disease caused by oxidative stress.”

“These studies with the non-psychotropic marijuana constituent, cannabidiol, demonstrate that protection can be achieved against both glutamate neurotoxicity and free radical induced cell death.” “Cannabidiol also acts as an anti-epileptic and anxiolytic, which makes it particularly useful in the treatment of neurological diseases in which neuroanatomic defects can predispose to seizures (e.g. subarachnoid hemorrhage).”

“This unexpected superior antioxidant activity (in the absence of BHT tumor promoting activity) shows for the first time that cannabidiol, and other cannabinoids, can be used as antioxidant drugs in the treatment (including prophylaxis) of oxidation associated diseases, and is particularly useful as a neuroprotectant.”12

The Endocannabinoid System

Everyone has an endocannabinoid system (ECS).13 In fact, the ECS evolved long before humans; it is over 600 million years old. It regulates variety of biological processes, like pain, sleep, mood, and appetite. However, experts believe that the overall function of the ECS is the regulation of homeostasis. It is difficult to succinctly describe a complex system like the ECS, but what’s important to know is that there are two main types of cannabinoid receptors— CB1 and CB2— on cells throughout the body. They are most abundant in the brain and immune system respectively. Your body naturally makes its own cannabinoids— endocannabinoids like anandamide and 2-AG—that share a similar chemical structure with plant-based cannabinoids like CBD. Endocannabinoids (and plant-based cannabinoids) link with protein molecule receptors—called cannabinoid receptors— on the surface of cells. CBD has also been shown to strengthen and improve the efficiency of mitochondria, the “powerhouses” of your cells that are responsible for ensuring that your cells work the way they should. 14 Research on the ECS has shown that as part of regulating homeostasis, and is responsible for repairing damaged cells. Research has also shown that cannabinoids are able to target cancer cells while sparing normal cells, meaning that the endocannabinoid system may act as a biological defense system.amazing potential, the ECS has become an attractive target for pharmaceutical drug development. When a person ingests CBD or other cannabinoids, these cannabinoid receptors are activated. (CBD appears to have a greater affinity for CB2 receptors than CB1 receptors.) Research indicates that when you supplement your ECS with nontoxic, non-habit-forming cannabinoids, you may create a healthier endocannabinoid system and, almost certainly, a healthier you.16

Emerging Research

The United States government (as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services) is the holder of:

US patent #6,630,507 –“Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants.”18

This patent, commonly known as “the ’507 Patent,” defines the benefits of CBD as recognized by the US government. A biopharmaceutical company, KannaLife Sciences, Inc., has been awarded an exclusive license agreement with the National Institutes of Health – Office of Technology Transfer (“NIH-OTT”) for the commercialization of the Patent.19

Overall Safety of CBD

NORML—Study: Non-Psychotropic Cannabinoid Proven to Be Safe in Humans 20

The oral administration of the non-psychotropic cannabis plant constituent cannabidiol (CBD) is safe and well tolerated in humans, according to clinical trial data published online by the journal Current Pharmaceutical Design.

Investigators reported that the oral administration of 10 mg of THC was associated with various physiological and behavioral effects—such as increased heart rate and sedation—whereas the oral administration of 600 mg of CBD was not.

They concluded, “There were no differences between CBD and placebo on any symptomatic, physiological variable. ... In healthy volunteers, THC has marked acute behavioral and physiological effects, whereas CBD has proven to be safe and well tolerated.”

We have been terribly and systematically misled for nearly 70 years in the United States, and I apologize for my own role in that. Cannabinoids may cause anti-tumor effects by various mechanisms, including induction of cell death, inhibition of cell growth, and inhibition of tumor angiogenesis invasion and metastasis. One review summarizes the molecular mechanisms of action of cannabinoids asanti-tumor agents. Cannabinoids appear to kill tumor cells but do not affect their non- transformed counterparts and may even protect them from cell death. These compounds have been shown to induce apoptosis in glioma cells in culture and induce regression of glioma tumors in mice and rats. Cannabinoids protect normal glial cells of astroglial and oligodendroglial lineages from apoptosis mediated by the CB1 receptor.

When McAllister and Desprez exposed the cells to cannabidiol in a petri dish, the cells not only stopped acting “crazy” but they also started to revert to a normal state. University of South Carolina School of Medicine—Cannabidiol induced apoptosis in human leukemia cells: A novel role of cannabidiol in the regulation of p22phox and Nox4 expression.26

The role of the mitochondria was further suggested as exposure to cannabidiol led to loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and release of cytochrome c. It is noteworthy that cannabidiol exposure led to an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) production as well as an increase in the expression of the NAD(P)H oxidases Nox4 and p22(phox). Furthermore, cannabidiol- induced apoptosis and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels could be blocked by treatment with the ROS scavengers or the NAD(P)H oxidase inhibitors. Finally, cannabidiol exposure led to a decrease in the levels of p-p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase, which could be blocked by treatment with a CB2-selective antagonist or ROS scavenger. Together, the results from this study reveal that cannabidiol, acting through CB2 and regulation of Nox4 andp22(phox) expression, may be a novel and highly selective treatment for leukemia.

Indeed, cannabinoids possess anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects and they are known to interfere with tumor neovascularization, cancer cell migration, adhesion, invasion and metastasization. However, the clinical use of ∆(9)-THC and additional cannabinoid agonists is often limited by their unwanted psychoactive side effects, and for this reason interest in nonpsychoactive cannabinoid compounds with structural affinity for ∆(9)-THC, such as cannabidiol (CBD), has substantially increased in recent years.

Seizures & Epilepsy

CNN—Medical marijuana helps stem 6-year-old’s seizures 28

The liquid, nonpsychoactive form of marijuana that Jayden takes ensures the boy doesn’t get “high.” In a laboratory, the marijuana is distilled down to mostly cannabidiols, which advocates say is the potent medicinal value of the drug.

Seizure—Cannabidiol exerts anti-convulsant effects in animal models of temporal lobe and partial seizures 29 Cannabis sativa has been associated with contradictory effects upon seizure states despite its medicinal use by numerous people with epilepsy. We have recently shown that the phytocannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) reduces seizure severity and lethality in the well- established in vivo model of pentylenetetrazole induced generalised seizures, suggesting that earlier, smallscale clinical trials examining CBD effects in people with epilepsy warrant renewed attention. Here, we report the effects of pure CBD (1, 10 and 100 mg/kg) in two other established rodent seizure models, the acute pilocarpine model of temporal lobe seizure and the penicillin model of partial seizure.

Seizure activity was video recorded and scored offline using model-specific seizure severity scales. In the pilocarpine model CBD (all doses) significantly reduced the percentage of animals experiencing the most severe seizures. In the penicillin model, CBD (10 mg/kg) significantly decreased the percentage mortality as a result of seizures; CBD (all doses) also decreased the percentage of animals experiencing the most severe tonic–clonic seizures. These results extend the anticonvulsant profile of CBD; when combined with a reported absence of psychoactive effects, this evidence strongly supports CBD as a therapeutic candidate for a diverse range of human epilepsies.

Pharmacology—Chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers and epileptic patients 30

In phase 1 of the study, 3 mg/kg daily of cannabidiol (CBD) was given for 30 days to 8 health human volunteers. Another 8 volunteers received the same number of identical capsules containing glucose as placebo in a double-blind setting. Neurological and physical examinations, blood and urine analysis, ECG and EEG were performed at weekly intervals.

In phase 2 of the study, 15 patients suffering from secondary generalized epilepsy with temporal focus were randomly divided into two groups. Each patient received, in a double blind procedure, 200-300 mg daily of CBD or placebo.

The drugs were administered for along as 4 1/2 months. Clinical and laboratory examinations, EEG and ECG were per- formed at 15- or 30-day intervals. Throughout the experiment the patients continued to take the antiepileptic drugs prescribed before the experiment, although these drugs no longer controlled the signs of the disease. All patients and volunteers tolerated CBD very well and no signs of toxicity or serious side effects were detected on examination.

4 of the 8 CBD subjects remained almost free of convulsive crises throughout the experiment and 3 other patients demon- strated partial improvement in their clinical condition. CBD was ineffective in 1 patient. The clinical condition of 7 placebo patients remained unchanged whereas the condition of 1 patient clearly improved. The potential use of CBD as an antiepileptic drug and its possible potentiating effect on other antiepileptic drugs are discussed.

Dementia & Alzheimer’s

The Border Mail—Cannabis may help reverse dementia: study 31

A team from Neuroscience Research Australia is in the early stages of research examining if one of the main active ingre- dients in cannabis, called cannabidiol, could reverse some of the symptoms of memory loss in animals.

Tim Karl, a senior research fellow with the group, said cannabidiol does not have the same psychoactive effects as the main component of marijuana, THC, but it has been found to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and other effects that could be beneficial for the brain. [...] The cell research, done at the University of Wollongong, found treating the cells with cannabidiol also reduced the amount of the harmful protein that they produced.

Dr Karl said there had been case reports in medical literature of marijuana smokers who had developed Alzheimer’s disease, only to find their smoking seemed to relieve some of their symptoms.

“Most of the components [of marijuana] are detrimental, they worsen your cognitive performance and have psychoactive effects... cannabidiol seems to not have any of these negative effects,” he said.

Collective Evolution—New Study Shows Cannabinoids Improve Efficiency Of Mitochondria And Remove Damaged Brain Cells 32

A recent study conducted by Andras Biokei-Gorzo at the Institute of Molecular Psychiatry at the University of Bonn in Germany is suggesting that marijuana(or the activation of the brain’s cannabinoid system) triggers the release of antioxidants, which act as a cleansing mechanism.

This process is known to remove damaged cells and improve the efficiency of mitochondria. Mitochondria is the energy source that powers cells. The study was published in Philosophical Transactions Of The Royal Society, B. You can read the entire study here.

Israel National News—Israeli Research Shows Cannabidiol May Slow Alzheimer’s Disease 33

The research, still at an early stage, indicates that memory loss, the first and primary symptom of Alzheimer’s disease, can be slowed down significantly in mice by cannabidiol. [...]

In the study conducted by Professor Raphael Mechoulam and a team led by Dr. Maria de Ceballos at the Cajal Institute in Madrid, Spain, mice were injected with a molecule found in the brain of humans suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, and then treated for one week with cannabidiol. [...] Mechoulam presented the findings this week at the Cannabis Medicines Symposium in London,

hosted by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) and said that human trials

will hopefully follow in the near future. [...] Mechoulam was the first scientist to isolate the THC

The role of the endocannabinoid system in nicotine addiction is being increasingly acknowledged. From the University Col- lege in London, this study published in the September 2012 issue of “Addictive Behavior ”found that cannabidiol (CBD) reduces cigarette consumption in tobacco smokers.

The American Journal on Addictions—Impact of Cannabis Use during Stabilization on Methadone Maintenance Treatment 35

A new study conducted by researchers at the Farber Institute for Neurosciences at Thomas Jefferson University, located in Philadelphia have determined through the close observation of 90+ opiate dependent individuals, that marijuana greatly reduces withdrawal symptoms in addicts undergoing methadone treatment. Concluding that, “the present findings may point to a novel intervention to be employed during treatment for opiate dependencies that specifically targets cannabinoid– opiate system interactions.”

When asked to rate their withdraw discomfort level on the clinical opiate withdrawal scale, most recovering addicts found increased marijuana consumption reduced the level of discomfort associated with apainful process of opiate withdrawal. Leading scientists involved in this research to surmise, “these results suggested a potential role for cannabis and reduction of withdrawal severity during methadone induction.”

Mount Sinai School of Medicine—Cannabidiol as Treatment Intervention for Opioid Relapse (Medical Research Study) 36

Using a strategy of indirectly regulating neural systems to modulate opioid-related behavior, our preclinical rodent studies consistently demonstrated that cannabidiol (CBD), a non psychoactive component of cannabis, specifically inhibited cue-induced heroin-seeking behavior. CBD’s selective effect on drug-seeking behavior was pronounced after 24 hrs and endured even two weeks after the last drug administration following short-term CBD exposure. The fact that drug craving is generally triggered by exposure to conditioned cues suggests that CBD might be an effective treatment for heroin craving, especially given its protracted impact on behavior. CBD has already been shown in Phase I of our study and in various clinical studies to be well tolerated with a wide safety margin in human subjects. CBD thus represents a strong candidate for the development as a potential therapeutic agent in humans for opioid craving and relapse prevention.

In blood, CBD influences the sur- vival and death of white blood cells, white blood cell migration and platelet aggregation. Taken together, these preclinical data appear to support a positive role for CBD treatment in the heart, and in peripheral and cerebral vasculature. However, further work is required to strengthen this hypothesis, establish mechanisms of action and whether similar responses to CBD would be observed in humans.

Evidence suggests that CBD can ameliorate positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia. The medical cannabis movement continues to research the therapeutic properties of THC, but research continues to reveal the immense health benefits of CBD—without the psychoactive effects from THC. In fact, there have been more scientific studies on CBD in the last decade, than in the years since its discovery. The results of this research have been promising for many ailments. The non-psychoactive, non-addictive CBD might be the cannabinoid that brings cannabis prohibition to an end. As the push for cannabis legalization continues, the demand for access to CBD for research, clinical trials, and drug develop- ment will only increase. Lung cancer patient who had declined conventional cancer treatment: could the self-administration of ‘CBD oil’ be contributing to the observed tumour regression?

Abstract

Conventional lung cancer treatments include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy; however, these treatments are often poorly tolerated by patients. Cannabinoids have been studied for use as a primary cancer treatment. Cannabinoids, which are chemically similar to our own body’s endocannabinoids, can interact with signalling pathways to control the fate of cells, includingcancer cells. We present a patient who declined conventional lung cancer treatment. Without the knowledge of her clinicians, she chose to self-administer‘ cannabidiol (CBD) oil’ orally 2–3 times daily. Serial imaging shows that her cancer reduced in size progressively from 41 mm to 10 mm over a period of 2.5 years. Previous studies have failed to agree on the usefulness of cannabinoids as a cancer treatment. This case appears to demonstrate a possible benefit of ‘CBD oil’ intake that may have resulted in the observed tumour regression. The use of cannabinoids as a potential cancer treatment justifies further research.

Background

Lung cancer remains the second most common cancer in the UK. Despite advances in current treatment options, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted cancer drugs, survival rates remain low at around 15% at 5 years from diagnosis.1 Some patients opt for symptom control and even then, the median survival rate without treatment is 7.15 months.2 We report a case of non-small cell lung cancer that was amenable to conventional treatment options. The patient had extensive discussions with the clinicians regarding the potential treatment options and she declined all treatment options offered, so was placed under ‘watch and wait’ surveillance. The patient then chose a non-conventional and unlicensed treatment that appears to have had a positive effect on her disease.

Case presentation

A woman in her 80s first presented to her general practitioner in February 2018 with a cough that had persisted for a few months. A chest radiograph was normal and she was treated with a course of oral antibiotics. Despite this, the cough persisted and a repeat chest radiograph in June 2018 showed a new lesion in the right mid zone of the lung. The differential diagnoses at this point include consolidation, primary lung malignancy or lung metastasis from an unknown primary.

The patient has a background of mild chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (forced expiratory volume in one second: 81% predicted), osteoarthritis and hypertension. She is a current 68 pack-year smoker with no history of alcohol consumption. The patient’s medications are: tiotropium,budesonide/formoterol fumarate and salbutamol inhalers, ramipril, bendroflumethiazide, atorvastatin, aspirin, amlodipine, amitriptyline, lansoprazole and co-codamol.

There was no significant family history of any medical conditions. The results of her general examination were unremarkable with her only being slightly restricted by highly strenous activity, having a World Health Organisation (WHO) performance status grade of 1.

Investigations

The patient underwent a CT scan of the chest in June 2018, which showed a lesion in the right middle lobe of her lung measuring 41 mm at its longest axial diameter. A subsequent positron emission tomography (PET) scan carried out in July 2018 showed this lesion to be avid with a standardised uptake value (SUV) max of 10.5 and a non-specific increased uptake in the head of the right femur. She subsequently underwent a CT-guided lung biopsy and was diagnosed with non-small cell lung carcinoma, not otherwise specified, with a tumour, node and metastases (TNM) staging of T2bN0Mx. Gene mutation testing for anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene and epidermal growth factor receptor gene was negative with<1% of tumour cells expressing programmed death-ligand 1.

Her case was reviewed by the local lung multidisciplinary team (MDT). As she was a potential candidate for treatment with curative intent, further investigations were carried out to look for distant metastases. A CT of the head was normal and an endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration of the subcarinal and left lower paratracheal lymph node showed no evidence of metastases. An MRI of her right thigh showed an abnormal signal in the right femoral head. A bone biopsy showed red marrow hyperplasia with no evidence of malignancy. She also underwent a cardiopulmonary exercise test, which showed a mild VQ mismatch but there was no evidence of cardiovascular or ventilatory limitation.

A repeat CT scan of the chest was carried out in September 2018 once full staging investigations had been completed. This showed that the right middle lobe cancer had reduced to 33 mm but there were new bilateral upper lobe nodules now visible measuring 4 mm in the left apex and 6mm on the right.

Treatment

The patient was referred to the cardiothoracic surgeons for consideration of a lobectomy, but surgery was declined by the patient following discussions with the surgeons. She was thenreferred to the oncologists and repeat CT and PET scans were carried out. These restaging scans showed that her cancer had reduced in size (CT: 11 mm reduction; PET: 18 mm reduction; figure1). The left apical nodule previously seen in the September 2018 CT scan had resolved and theright upper lobe nodule had reduced in size. The patient was offered stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, but she declined this treatment as well. The decision was made to ‘watch and wait’ by carrying out regular CT surveillance of the patient.

Outcome and follow-up

This case was brought to the attention of the local lung MDT meeting in February 2019 when the serial imaging showed a reduction in tumour size despite having received no conventional treatment for her lung cancer. The patient was contacted to discuss her results, at which point she disclosed that she had chosen to take ‘CBD oil’ as an alternative self-treatment for her lung cancer on the advice of a family member since August 2018, shortly after her original diagnosis. The ‘CBD oil’ was sourced from outside the UK. She was consistently taking 0.5 mL of ‘CBD oil’ occasionally two times per day, but normally three times a day, via ingestion. The supplier advised that the main active ingredients of the ‘CBD oil’ used by this patient were Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) at 19.5%, CBD at 20.05% and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) at 23.8%.

The supplier had advised the patient (via her family member) not to take the ‘CBD oil’ with hot food or drinks as it could result in symptoms of ‘feeling stoned’. The patient reported that she had a reduced appetite since taking ‘CBD oil’ that may or may not be related to the ‘CBD oil’ intake. There were no other changes to her prescribed medications, diet and lifestyle. She was advised to quit smoking, but she declined, and was smoking one pack a week throughout the surveillance period.

Discussion

We report a case of non-small cell lung cancer that was amenable to conventional treatment options. However, after extensive discussions with the patient regarding the potential treatment options, she declined all treatment options offered so was placed on ‘watch and wait’ surveillance. The patient then chose to take ‘CBD oil’ daily that appears to have had a positive effect on her disease.

Cannabis, Cannabis sativa, is a herbaceous flowering plant that has been used as a natural therapeutic agent since ancient times.3 In 1842, cannabis was introduced into modern medicine for its analgesic, sedative, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and anticonvulsant effects.4 Cannabinoids are a group of chemicals that are derived from the Cannabis plant, whichcan directly alter mental state when consumed, which can indirectly lead to physical changes. Of the hundreds of cannabinoids known, the two compounds that have been researched the most are CBD and THC, with THC being a psychoactive compound, whereas CBD is non- psychoactive.

Both of these compounds interact with our body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is composed of three main parts: the cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2), the endocannabinoids and enzymes. CB1 receptors are found mainly in the brain and central nervous system, and CB2 receptors are found mainly in cells of peripheral organs associated with the immune and haematopoietic system. The endocannabinoids (eg, anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol) are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central and peripheral nervous system. The enzymes (eg, fatty acid amide hydrolase and monoacylglycerol acid lipase) are responsible for synthesis and eventual inactivation of the endocannabinoids. 5 The endocannabinoid system functions to regulate physiological and cognitive processes, as the endocannabinoids act as neuromodulators. They are involved in a variety of processes, including neuronal function, emotion, feeding and energy metabolism, pain and inflammation, sleep and immune function.6

CBD and THC are chemically similar to our own body’s endocannabinoids. THC has a high affinity to both CB1 and CB2 receptors, whereas CBD has been attributed to work on the enzymes in the endocannabinoid system allowing more endocannabinoids to circulate in the system. These interactions play a role in controlling a cell’s fate by allowing the release of various neurotransmitters, modulating the effects of proteins and nuclear factors that are involved in cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis.6

As a result, the endocannabinoid system has been a focus of many research projects as a potential mechanism for drug treatments. It is widely believed that cannabinoids can provide benefits to people suffering from pain, anxiety and sleep disorders, and their use is well established in palliative care settings. A systematic review in 2015 which looked at 79 trials found evidence that using cannabinoids led to a reduction in chronic pain and an improvement in spasticity in multiple sclerosis or paraplegia. There was also some evidence suggesting that cannabinoids can be used to improve a range of other ailments: nausea caused by chemotherapy, sleep disorders, increasing appetite in HIV infection and Tourette syndrome.7 In the UK, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence provides guidance for the prescription of cannabinoids for patients with intractable nausea and vomiting, chronic pain, spasticity and severe treatment-resistant epilepsy.8

In recent years, research has been undertaken to investigate the potential use of cannabinoids as a direct cancer treatment, but no causative relationship has yet been identified. Studies have shown that cannabinoids have an effect on tumour growth, development, invasion, metastasis and angiogenesis.9 However, various studies have come to conflicting conclusions on the specific effect cannabinoids have on cancer cells. In some cases, CBD has been found to have antiproliferative effects, increase apoptosis in cells and inhibit cancer cell migration, invasion and metastasis.10 These effects were seen when studied on lung cancer cells. 11–15 Similarly, THC has been shown in some studies to decrease tumour growth, incidences of benign tumours, invasion of cancer cells and metastatic spread, 16–19 but it has also been shown to increase proliferation of cancer cells, including lung cancer cells. 20 21 Although there is clearly a potential for cannabinoids to be used as a primary or as an adjunct form of cancer treatment, further research is required to identify exactly which compound works against which specific cancer cell type.

According to the supplier of our patient’s ‘CBD oil’, the active ingredients were roughly equal amounts of THC and CBD. There was also a high amount of THCA, which is the precursor to THC. THCA can be converted into the THC molecule in a process called decarboxylation, which is achieved by using heat. However, our patient was advised by the supplier to not take her ‘CBD oil’ with a hot drink as it would activate a much higher level of the psychoactive THC compound, so we can assume that the CBD and THC levels stayed roughly equal.

There has previously been a similar case reported, which also showed evidence of tumour reduction after taking ‘CBD oil’, in a patient of a similar demographic with lung cancer (adenocarcinoma).22 However, in this case, the only active component was CBD. In both cases, the patients did not change their lifestyle, medications or diet; and the self-administration of the ‘CBD oil’ seems to be the only explanation for the radiological improvement of their known lung cancer. Due to each case involving a different selection of cannabinoids, it is difficult to conclude if the THC in our case contributed to the lung cancer reduction, or if it was just the CBD component that had a positive effect.

The specific dosage of ‘CBD oil’ that our patient ingested was not consistent, as she would only take ‘CBD oil’ when she had another family member present as a safety precaution. This means that on some days, she only took 0.5 mL two times per day rather than three times per day. As well as making our patient’s self-treatment harder to replicate, this also serves to highlight the fact that ‘CBD oil’ as a self-administered medical treatment is still viewed by many people as requiring more caution when using than prescribed medications.

We are aware of the limitations of this case report. We are unable to confirm the full ingredients of the ‘CBD oil’ that the patient was taking or to provide information on which of the ingredient(s) may be contributing to the observed tumour regression. Although there appears to be a relationship between the intake of ‘CBD oil’ and the observed tumour regression, we are unable to conclusively confirm that the tumour regression is due to the patient taking ‘CBD oil’.

Existing cancer treatments could have severe side effects, both physically and mentally. This is why our patient decided on non-conventional self-treatment. The limited number of case reports appear to show that ‘CBD oil’ can have positive effects on tumour reduction. More research is needed to identify the actual mechanism of action, administration pathways, safe dosages, its effects on different types of cancer and any potential adverse side effects when using cannabinoids.

The potential for cannabinoids to be used as an alternative to augment or replace conventional primary cancer treatments definitely justifies further research.

Patient’s perspective

“I was not very interested in traditional cancer treatments as I was worried about the risks of surgery, and I saw my late husband suffer through the side effects of radiotherapy. My relative suggested that I should try ‘cannabidiol (CBD) oil’ to treat my cancer, and I have been taking it regularly ever since. I am ‘over the moon’ with my cancer shrinking, which I believe was caused by the ‘CBD oil’. I am tolerating it very well and I intend to take this treatment indefinitely.”

Learning points

• A clinician treating a patient with cancer needs to be aware that the patient may be taking non-conventional and unlicensed treatment without the clinician’s knowledge.

• It is important to take into account a patient’s choices relating to potential side effects when discussing treatment options, and to keep an open mind of the potential benefits of non-conventional treatments.

• Both oncologists and patients would welcome a cancer treatment option with minimal side effects to replace or augment the current cancer treatments.

• Further research is needed to focus on the potential use of cannabinoids as a primary form of cancer treatment.

• The endocannabinoid system controls a wide range of physiological and neurological processes and, therefore, it can be a challenge to isolate a particular response in the context of primary treatment for a specific disease.

The prevalence was persistent among those with a history of infestation. Major risk factors were residing in a setting with other infected cases, and sharing a hair-comb. Behavior-change communication should be implemented by local health authorities to reduce community burden. The present study confirmed that 2 doses of oral Ivermectin (200 μg/kg once per week over 2 weeks) was safe and effective for field-based practice and may be an alternative for head-lice treatment, especially in remote areas.

This Case Report is from a 66 year old man with metastatic esophageal cancer that had spread to the lungs and lymph nodes. It was determined that the cancer was too advanced for surgery or radiation but he was given palliative chemotherapy. Palliative chemotherapy is typically used when the cancer has spread extensively, is inoperable and chemotherapy is not being used in an attempt to eradicate the cancer. The main goal of palliative chemotherapy treatment is to try to improve the quality of remaining life.

Hi Ben, I have an update for you. I received my results from my scan of last week and I’m still cancer free!

I had Stage 4 Esophageal Adenocarcinoma that was large, 18 centimeters long, that had metastasized primarily to one of my lungs and lymph nodes in the region as well. I also had some lumps in my back that were suspected as cancer too. The cancer had also enveloped veins and arteries in the area which is the main reason why surgery wasn’t considered an option for me. My oncologists determined that my cancer was too advanced for radiation or chemotherapy as well, so I was in real trouble.

They did give me some basic chemotherapy consisting of fluoracil and Herzuma to make my final days more comfortable but I was told these would not get rid of the cancer.

I am cancer free today. I give the glory to God, and deepest heartfelt thanks to the folks here and in a facebook group that helped me through this! Because I was given up on I started doing my own research. There are many different types of substances that appear to have anti-cancer properties so I figured I’d use as many as I could in the short time period I had try them. Here is what I did:

Summary

This Case Report is of a man who received no treatments that would eradicate his cancer, other than what he did for himself. The average survival time with inoperable esophageal cancer is not long, maybe a couple months in many instances (Besharat et al., 2008) while the 5 year survival rate with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery is 8% to 20% (Pultrum et al., 2006). Tumor size is also a significant factor in survival prognosis, with larger tumors associated with poorer outcome (Zeybek et al., 2013); A.R.’s tumor was extremely large. At 14 months survival so far, A.R. has greatly beaten the odds against him compared to others with inoperable, untreatable esophageal cancer.

How did he do it? He didn’t give up, he did his research then threw the kitchen sink at his cancer. He also had a great attitude and faith, which are emerging as common traits in many of the Case Report success stories described here.

These additional medicines have been listed as potential Rx options for VHF illnesses, in emergencies if other medicines are not available. Since there have not been many outbreaks of either Ebola or Marburg, we don’t have clinical studies to provide more data, but we list these options that have been used by the US Military:

• Albendazole (FDA-approved “de-wormer”): 400 mg once when using for parasites; available in the USA by prescription, dosing not established for Marburg virus

• Mebendazole (FDA-approved “de-wormer”): 100 mg BID for 3 days when using for parasites; available in the USA by prescription; dosing not established for Marburg virus

• Fenbendzole (same class of medicines as above, but it is an approved Veterinary product, not approved for human use. Veterinary products available on-line.

• Ribavirin is both an oral and IV agent that has some in vitro and in vivo activity against two of the four VHF families, but not the Filoviridae (Ebola and Marburg) or Flaviviridae families. Small trials have shown that ribavirin may reduce mortality after infection with Lassa fever and select New World arenaviruses. Oral ribavirin has been licensed for treatment of chronic hepatitis C and because of ease of oral use and availability, it was recommended by the Johns Hopkins Working Group on Civilian Biodefense in 2002 as an off-label treatment option in a mass casualty event from outbreak of HVF when IV resources would be limited due to large numbers of patients needing help at the same time.

• In the absence of access to the above options, practitioners in other countries have reported some clinical effectiveness using Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin for viral hemorrhagic fevers, with dosing similar to therapy for COVID. If there are no other options, health professionals may elect to use these existing medicines off label, rather than do nothing. But again, with limited outbreaks, and small numbers of cases, we don’t have clinical studies to provide more data.

From the above we may extrapolate that a combination therapy of Fenbendazole and Ivermectin would be an ever more potent treatment protocol for Ebola/Marburg, as well as PSYOP-19 (aka COVID-19).

Also, we know that this very same combination therapy may be extremely effective for (turbo) cancers.

Anthelmintic drugs such as Albendazole, and its nearly identical counterpart, Fenbendazole, are well known for their anti-parasitic properties. However, their powerful antiviral and anticancer properties have received virtually no publicity, despite the fact that Albendazole is the recommended treatment for the Marburg and the Ebola viruses.

Furthermore, the mechanism by which these two substances disable the Ebola/Marburg viruses, is not limited to just these two viruses; it shows efficacy against multiple viruses.

Many research papers describing in vitro and in vivo animal studies, as well as several studies involving humans, show the drug’s efficacy against cancer.

At its core, every living cell has a skeletal system called the cytoskeleton, composed of microtubules. Microtubules are built from proteins called tubulins. Inside a cell, these microtubules act like highways, guiding the transport of cellular components and ensuring proper cell division; however, viruses, like hitchhikers, exploit these highways to their advantage.

Two viral proteins, VP40 and VP22, associated with the Ebola virus and Bovine Herpesvirus (BoHV-1) respectively, have emerged as key players in this mechanism.

VP40 & Tubulin: A Complex Combo

The Ebola virus uses its matrix protein, VP40, to intricately associate with cellular microtubules. Research has shown that when VP40 is introduced into mammalian cells, a significant fraction of it aligns closely with these microtubule structures.

On a deeper examination, it has been discovered that VP40 actively interacts with the protein tubulin, binding to it directly. Perhaps the most famous Fenbendazole success story belongs to a man by the name of Joe Tippens. In 2016 Tippens was diagnosed with lung cancer. He started chemo and radiation simultaneously, and by 2017 these were the results of his treatment:

Of course, the “experts” had many other options for Tippens.

My thoracic oncologist told me he could put me in a clinical trial that “Would NOT save my life, but the best case scenario might extend my life by a year…or so”

A year (or so) sounds a lot better than 3 months, so I said “Let’s go for it”

Basically, Tippens was told he had exactly a 0% chance of survival.

And then a miracle happened.

Two days after coming home from being told I’ve got 0% chance to survive, I read a post on the OSU sports board that simply said “If you have cancer or know someone who does, give me a shout”

I had known the author of that post (and his sons) for a very long time, so I picked up the phone and called him. He is a large animal veterinarian in Western Oklahoma. What he told me next should have stunned me, but I was fairly numb and not stun-able (new word that should be a word).

He told me a story of a scientist at Merck Animal Health (veterinary side of Merck) that had performed cancer research on mice by injecting different types of cancers into different mice body parts. And this scientist stumbled (trial and error) across a product in their canine product line that was batting 1.000 in killing these different cancers.

He told me that the scientist in question got diagnosed with 4th stage brain cancer and was told “no hope, 3 months to live”. This person decided “what the heck” and started taking the canine medicine. Six weeks later, she was all clear.

I had just been told I’ve got no hope and 3 months to live, so it wasn’t a hard decision for me to take the leap.

As of this posting Tippens remains in total remission, vibrant and healthy.

The formation of NETs significantly promotes melanoma cancer metastasis through increasing TGF-b, MMP9 and myeloid-derived suppressor cells and suppressed CD8+T cells activation.

In this study, we report that IVM, a generic drug approved by FDB, has antibacterial and anti-melanoma activities We further identified the precise molecular target of GSDMD for IVM The current research results show that IVM inhibits the formation of GSDD dependent pores and the thermal swelling of cells, which significantly reduces the formation of reticular structures induced by CTSB, leading to melanoma metastasis.

Collectively, our research has found a new potential IVM target in the clinical treatment of melanoma.

Recently, drug repurposing has become a powerful tool for discovering and developing novel anticancer drug candidates (35, 36). Our in vitro screening system showed a broad-spectrum anti-parasitic compound IVM among 231 candidate small molecular compounds in the database of Drug Bank significantly reduced CTSB-induced NETs formation, with no effect on tumor cell viability. The prior investigation on repositioning drugs, such as mefloquine and albendazole have demonstrated to promote cancer treatment by targeting cell cycle arrest in melanoma cells (37, 38). IVM is widely used in both animals and human as an FDA-approved parasiticide (39). Except for its role as antiviral activity against several viruses such as coronaviruses, recent studies have revealed its role in various diseases, including sepsis, diabetes and human cancer disease (40–42). In tumor study, IVM has been identified to reverse the chemotherapeutic drugs resistance through EGFR pathway in colorectal and breast cancer (43). In addition, another study points to a repression of WNT-β-CATENIN/TCF transcriptional response by IVM and related macrocylic lactones in human colon cancer (42). So further studies are required for us to investigate the role of IVM on melanoma cells in the pathogenesis of tumor metastasis.

Our immufluorescent results showed IVM reshaped the tumor immune microenvironment with increased CD8+T cells and reduced MDSCs in lung of melanoma mouse model. The results suggest that IVM exhibit a strong potential for melanoma cancer to lung metastasis. Melanoma is recognized as one of the most immunogenic human cancer types that has a strong correlation between the infiltration of T cells in melanoma metastases (44,45). In clinical phase III trial with 945 patients, the overall 5-year survival rate was 44% for anti-PD-1 (46). Therefore, a combination of anti-PD-1 antibody with IVM should be added to further explore their effect on melanoma cell metastasis. Besides the role of CD8+T cells in melanoma metastasis, MDSCs were also found to be enriched and activated in the melanoma microenvironment. The reduced frequencies and cell number of MDSCs abrogate immunosuppressive functions that delay the tumor progression and prolong the survival both in animal models and in cancer patients (47,48). So further studies are required to investigate the direct effect on IVM on CD8+T cells and MDSCs in melanoma metastasis.

Our molecular mechanism study identified IVM directly interact with GSDMD and promotes GSDMD oligomerization in bone marrow neutrophils. GSDMD is a pore forming protein that acts as a downstream molecular of inflammasome and non-canonical inflammasome (caspase-11). In innate immune cells such as macrophage, GSDMD is activated by the cleavage of canonical (NLRP3, AIM2, and caspase-1) or noncanonical pathway. Once cleaved, GSDMD can translocate to the plasms membrane to form pores and induce a lytic proinflammatory of cell death (49, 50). However, unlike macrophages, which undergo pyroptosis, the activation of canonical inflammasome in neutrophils facilitate NETosis. Recently, two studies have identified that the activation of gasdermin D (GSDMD) is required for the generation of NETs (32, 33). Secondly, although many studies have been focused on the regulation pathway for GSDMD cleavage (such caspase-8, caspase-3). Little is known for the regulation role of GSDMD pore formation on the plasma membrane. Our results further confirm a role of IVM on GSDMD oligomerzization, which is essential for GSDMD pore formation (2,51). However, our results showed no effect of GSDMD cleavage after IVM treatment. The upstream enzyme of GSDMD is caspase-1 and caspase-11, our results showed there is no comparable effect of caspase-11 after IVM treatment. Since caspase-1 was not required for GSDMD-dependent NETs (32). We did not detect the expression of caspase-1, especially in neutrophils, except for caspase-1 and caspase-11, the resident granzyme in neutrophil can also cleave GSDMD including elastase and cathepsin G (52,53). So, our study should also investigate the effect of IVM on elastase and cathepsin G.

The results of immunofluorescence and scanning electron microscope showed the release of NETs were significantly increased after CTSB treatment. Indicating the role of CTSB on NETs formation. Except for the role of CTSB on NETs, it has been identified that cathepsin protease is essential for melanoma progression (54). Intracellular cathepsins cleave proteins while extracellular cathepsins degrade type I collagen and active pro-invasive proteases in the tumor microenvironment, which promotes tumor metastasis (55). CTSB cleaves in the non-helical telopeptide extensions of collagens (56). The secretion of CTSB is significantly increased in cancer cells and are active and stable in acidic environments and neutral acidity (57). A study showed that Abl/Arg promoted CTSB secretion through controlling the transcription factors with epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion and therapeutic resistance in melanoma cells (58). Except for the role of CTSB on tumor cells, there are some reports that CTSB interacting with NLRP3 and to subsequent caspase-1 activation in macrophages (59). In our study, further investigations are thus needed to explore the role of CTSB on other cells.

It has been identified that inflammatory cytokines and growth factors play a crucial role in tumor growth and tumor microenvironment. The qPCR results showed that the level of proinflammatory cytokines including IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly reduced in lung of B16F10 mice after IVM treatment. Melanoma cells often express variable levels of IL-1β and IL-6, which plays an important role of cell proliferation and melanoma progression (60). Also, the level of TGF-β, VEGF and MMP9 were reduced after IVM treatment. TGF-β is a multifunctional cytokine belong to the transforming growth factor superfamily, the key function is to regulate the inflammatory process. In melanoma, TGF-β is considered a marker of metastatic spreading (61). In addition, recent studies suggested that TNF-α and metalloproteases were key players in melanoma cells aggressiveness (62, 63). So further studies are required to investigate the precise effect of IVM in these pro-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors as secreted from B16F10 melanoma cells.

Overall, the data from this study suggest the role of IVM in the formation of CTSB induced reticular formation when melanoma metastasizes to the lungs. We found that CTSB secreted by tumor significantly promoted the activation of neutral caspase-11/GSDMD cells IVM directed at SDMX has greatly inhibited SDMX oligarchy and the subsequent GSMX core network. As the clinical needs of patients with melanoma have not been met, it is necessary to further explore the feasibility of this drug as a treatment for melanoma metastasis.

The implications of Ivermectin Cream and melanoma are truly staggering, with a simple topical administration not only addressing the skin cancer itself, but, also, preventing overall metastasization.

In the other cited study titled, Ivermectin, a potential anticancer drug derived from an antiparasitic drug, the researchers stated the following:

Ivermectin has powerful antitumor effects, including the inhibition of proliferation, metastasis, and angiogenic activity, in a variety of cancer cells. This may be related to the regulation of multiple signaling pathways by ivermectin through PAK1 kinase. On the other hand, ivermectin promotes programmed cancer cell death, including apoptosis, autophagy and pyroptosis. Ivermectin induces apoptosis and autophagy is mutually regulated. Interestingly, ivermectin can also inhibit tumor stem cells and reverse multidrug resistance and exerts the optimal effect when used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs.

In terms of skin cancer, the researchers stated the following without specifying topical or oral application of Ivermectin, but we may extrapolate that using both variants of this compound simultaneously would be the optimal strategy for melanoma:

Melanoma is the most common malignant skin tumor with a high mortality rate. Drugs targeting BRAF mutations such as vemurafenib, dabrafenib and PD-1 monoclonal antibodies, including pembrolizumab and nivolumab have greatly improved the prognosis of melanoma [71,72]. Gallardo treated melanoma cells with IVM and found that it could effectively inhibit melanoma activity [73]. Interestingly, IVM could also show activity against BRAF wild-type melanoma cells, and its combination with dapafinib could significantly increase antitumor activity. Additionally, it has been confirmed that PAK1 is the key target of IVM that mediates its anti-melanoma activity, and IVM can also significantly reduce the lung metastasis of melanoma in animal experiments. Deng found that IVM could activate the nuclear translocation of TFE3 and induce autophagy-dependent cell death by dephosphorylation of TFE3 (Ser321) in SK-MEL-28 melanoma cells [74]. However, NAC reversed the effect of IVM, which indicated that IVM increased TFE3-dependent autophagy through the ROS signaling pathway.

In the cited study on general dermatological applications titled, Current Use of Ivermectin in Dermatology, Tropical Medicine, and COVID-19: An Update on Pharmacology, Uses, Proven and Varied Proposed Mechanistic Action, the researchers referenced several skin conditions that would benefit from topical Ivermectin; for example:

Demodicosis

Demodex folliculorum is a normal inhabitant of human skin and IVM (both oral and topical) may be useful in several disorders associated with Demodex overpopulation and immune dysregulation, including blepharitis, otitis externa, acne, and perioral dermatitis. In immunosuppressed patients, it causes facial or disseminated demodicosis affecting the pilosebaceous units where the host immune system is unable to keep the mite under control. While there is no specific approved dose regimen for demodicosis, 2 children with acute leukemia and disseminated demodicosis were treated successfully with a single oral dose of 250 μg/kg of IVM[55] and as a corollary oral IVM is preferred in HIV-associated demodicosis.[80]

With the researchers having concluded:

IVM is a drug that is safe, cheap, and widely available with multimodal action. The wide applicability with mass prophylaxis campaigns in various tropical disorders certifies its safety. The dermatological indications extend beyond scabies and pediculosis. The repurposing of this drug for COVID-19 is based on firm in-vitro data and therapeutic data suggests that it is a useful drug in the early virus replicative phase of the disease. It can be given at higher doses based on the available data which may achieve the ideal serum levels for an antiviral action. While it has established a firm place in the management of several nematodal and ectoparasitic infections, the anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-viral/bacterial role of IVM make it a versatile drug, the full potential of it will evolve over the years.

In yet another research study titled, Clinical applications of topical ivermectin in dermatology, the researchers concluded:

IVM is an antiparasitic drug with significant anti-inflammatory effects. Topical application as cream or lotion is particularly safe. The evidence strongly supports its clinical application for pediculosis capitis and roscaea, and it can be considered for treatment of scabies, demodicidosis, and cutaneous myiasis.

This first account is courtesy of a molecular biologist’s journey in treating their Lyme Disease:

Introduction

Lyme disease, primarily caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, has been the subject of much research and debate. Commonly transmitted through the bite of an infected black-legged tick, Lyme Disease can present a complex array of symptoms.

While most focus on the bacterial aspect of the disease, there are also protozoan co-infections, such as Babesiosis caused by Babesia parasites, to consider. Here’s how a personal experience led to some thought-provoking insights into treating Lyme Disease and associated co-infections.

After experiencing severe arthritic pain that we initially attributed to ‘long Covid,’ my wife observed a classic ‘bullseye’ rash indicative of a tick bite. With some medical school training, she immediately suspected Lyme Disease. As a molecular biologist, I was aware that Lyme Disease can be accompanied by protozoan co-infections like Babesiosis.

However, the majority of research focuses on the bacterial aspect, with Doxycycline often being the mainstay treatment [1].

Anecdotal Evidence and Off-Label Treatments

During our quest to manage the debilitating symptoms, we came across an anecdotal case that reported benefits from combining Doxycycline and Ivermectin [2]. While Ivermectin is primarily indicated for parasitic infections [3], we questioned whether it could have a role in treating protozoan co-infections like Babesiosis. We consulted specialists who, although hesitant, acknowledged the potential of this combo.

An Unexpected Turnaround

After a week on this unconventional regimen, my wife’s symptoms were entirely alleviated. While this is a single case and should not be generalized, it adds to a growing list of anecdotal evidence supporting a multifaceted approach to treating Lyme Disease.

The State of Lyme Disease Treatment Today

Currently, Ivermectin as part of a combination treatment for Lyme Disease is becoming more widely accepted, although this still remains an area of active research and debate [4].

Conclusion and Caution

Our experience highlights the need for more research into comprehensive treatment options for Lyme Disease, particularly for those with co-infections. While anecdotal evidence can provide valuable insights, clinical trials are necessary to establish efficacy and safety.

A zoonotic infection is parasitic, lol, I didn’t invent that, it is known everywhere in the world, scientists, medical personnel, everyone knows but the ones that treat Lyme Disease nor the ones that postulate the guidelines to treat it, don’t ask me why? The illness is growing everyday but the truth is still hidden!

Plus more than 75 % of the cases of Lyme Disease are infections of Bacteria (Borrelia Burgdorferi) and parasites (Babesia), plus other called “co-infections of bacteria and parasites like Bartonella, Erlichia, Mycoplasma and some types of viruses. So most of the Lymies have Babesia too, that is worse than having malaria.

When the blood is seen in a microscope the malaria parasites are seen invading the red blood cells, one parasite per one RBC, while the Babesia is recognized for having up to three parasites invading the red blood cells, three times the damage, three times the anemia! The other difference is that malaria parasites feed from the liver and brain, so they kill their host really fast; Babesia parasites are travelers who love to eat brain cells, heart cells, gland cells and the more they reproduce the more they migrate to other organs, nerves, muscles and bones, so the host lives longer but suffering more until dying in pain. If that is not a parasitic infection please correct me and tell me what that is???? I know a person who’s child has the parasites in the sinus, brain, glands and body, but she is worried for the child having mold in the blood, can someone measure what is more damaging for a human being? why the denial of the damage parasites do to humans?

If you are interested in the Ivermectine the human version in the US is called STROMECTOL, needs a prescription and the treatment should be careful because the die off is truly hard. Each parasite throws a toxin when they die, plus their dead bodies are another toxin and of course, the medicine to kill the parasite is a poison, so what ever dose you take, multiply it by three, that is the load your body will have to deal with. So you better start low, but repeat it regularly to kill the eggs, to stop their reproduction, to clean your body form their continuous devouring you.

There is a human version of Ivermectin sold in South America and other countries that come sin small bottles of 6 ml, like tear drops bottles. The dose is one drop per one kilogram. Well that for healthier people, because when the person is very infected is always advisable to start with lower doses.

The veterinary version is called Ivomec, Ivermax, Zimectrin and Iverchoice to mention some; these come in pastes and in liquid in huge gallons or bottles. The veterinary version is made to deworm and treat cows, horses and pigs. The concentration of it is the double of the human version or even more, so if someone decides to treat with these the amount of medicine given has to be half of the medicine you would take in a human version.

For the human dosage the liquid Ivermectina is taken one drop at 0.6% concentration per one KILOGRAM of weight ONCE A WEEK. If you are a Lymie, infected for long time you better don’t start with a “normal” dose, my Doc said the best should be to start with half of it and be prepared to herx; but also be prepared to have great days, good ones, glorious ones! If you don’t repeat the anti-parasitic treatments the parasites will take over again and again!!! I mean repeat once a week or once every two weeks but never before because the medicine stays in the body during four days, so if you repeat it before that time you could be duplicating the dose and making it poisonous. One year is probably the minimum time you might need to do the treatment. I take it once a week, and will keep on doing it!

I had a friend taking 5 drops of Ivermectin a week, didn’t help her at all, lol, too low. I heard this person stating Ivermectin didn’t do much good, but the person just took one dose, felt recovery and never took it again, which means the eggs hatched and reproduced again. I saw this guy who one night took one bottle of the human liquid version (not sold in the US), then the next morning he took another full bottle of the human version (6 ml); he herxed like crazy but then he was fine, lol, he says that is the correct dose… I would not try that too much I guess. I read about this girl two years old who drank more than half a bottle of Ivermectine for cows, a huge one ltr bottle, they took her to the hospital, induced vomiting and the girl was fine… so I know it is toxic but not that is going to kill us not even taking the complete little human version bottle. It is safe for humans, but the herx is bad the more bugs it kills. I found a very recognized Doctor is treating with 12 mgs a day of human Ivermectin every day for two weeks, I found this a strong dose but that is just my personal opinion not a medical advise. My Doc from my home country told me that the medicine is not cleared up in our bodies in four days so dosages must not be repeated before to not multiply the treatment. I mean if you took 12 mgs today – which is very high in my opinion, and tomorrow you take another 12 mgs you would be having 24 mgs of medicine in your body because the body cannot clear it so fast, so if you do this everyday non stop for two weeks well, I think it could be poisonous unless you are sure your body can take such huge doses. My Doc advised me to take half the dose once a week and raise it up little by little, better a long treatment but slow. Also because each parasite that dies releases a toxin which makes us very sick, so the parasite killing has to be slow and regular!

Denying the parasitic infection in Lyme Disease is condemning the people to never recover and suffer, or maybe that is what they want to make more money and sell more medicines? Hope not, honestly pray it is not just business!

NOTE: I didn’t know that the parasites in blood like with the malaria and Babesia they travel not only to the organs but go hide to the tips of the fingers and ears. So last week when I went to the lab of the hospital they didn’t see the parasites in my blood and I was surprised because I have seen them in my microscope at home. The difference was they took my blood from the big vein of the hand while I took the sample from the tip of my finger!!

Also, an interesting though by no means rigorous research study entitled, Attempt to control ticks (Acari: Ixodidae) on deer on an isolated island using ivermectin-treated corn concluded:

In addition, the ratio of females to males, the numbers of females engorging > 10 mg body weight, and the numbers of those eventually hatching, were all significantly less among ticks from island deer in comparison with ticks from untreated deer.

There are many more anecdotal experiences with Ivermectin and Doxycycline resulting in the total curing of Lyme Disease.

Lest we forget, there are credible theories that expose Lyme Disease as a bioweapon that was deployed by the DoD and Military Industrial Complex out of a biolab in Plum Island, NY which was the alleged source of the disease, with the first “outbreak” discovered in Lyme, CT.

Of course, CIA Mockingbird MSM were ordered to dispel such “conspiracy theories,” just like they did with the PSYOP-19 Lab Leak Theory; to wit:

Yes, WAPO is absolutely correct in that Lyme Disease did not “escape” a military biolab just like the C19 virus did not escape the NIH-funded Wuhan Institute of Virology: both were deliberately released.

And the latest insect bioweapon to help usher in the Great Reset and 2030 Agenda is the Lone Star Tick, which, upon infecting the subject, renders them unable to consume red meat. Or the perfect PSYOP-CLIMATE-CHANGE bio-bug yet.

My Take…

I couldn’t find any research about Chronic Lyme Disease and Ivermectin.

Nevertheless, many people are using either Ivermectin or Fenbendazole to treat Chronic Lyme Disease, and they talk about it on Twitter.

A 2018 study found persistent infection despite antibiotic therapy in patients with ongoing symptoms of Lyme.

• In 2013 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that Lyme disease is much more common than previously thought, with over 300,000 new cases diagnosed each year in the United States.

• That makes Lyme disease six times more common than HIV/AIDS, 20 times more common than hepatitis C virus infection and 30 times more common than tuberculosis in the United States.

• “Our findings address a major controversy over persistent symptoms in Lyme disease,” said Marianne Middelveen, lead author of the published study. “The results suggest that infection with the Lyme spirochete may persist in some patients despite supposedly adequate antibiotic therapy.”

Effect of Ivermectin

So is the anecdotal case I received an anti-bacterial effect, anti-inflammatory effect or something else?

There is something called “Lyme arthritis”

From 2021 Lochhead et al - Lyme arthritis: linking infection, inflammation and autoimmunity:

“The central feature of post-infectious Lyme arthritis is an excessive, dysregulated pro-inflammatory immune response during the infection phase that persists into the post-infectious period. This response is characterized by high amounts of IFNγ and inadequate amounts of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. The consequences of this dysregulated pro-inflammatory response in the synovium include impaired tissue repair, vascular damage, autoimmune and cytotoxic processes, and fibroblast proliferation and fibrosis. • After 7 days of rheumatoid arthritis induction, animals were treated with dexamethasone 5 mg/kg and ivermectin 6 mg/kg

• Treatment with ivermectin showed a significant reduction in inflammatory cells levels, body weight, and visual arthritic score, indicating an improvement in the degree of inflammation as compared with the diseased group.

• Ivermectin treatment also showed a significant reduction in the severity of inflammation and destruction of joints and showed comparable effects to dexamethasone, a corticosteroid used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis

Conclusion

Ivermectin, is comparable to a strong steroid like dexamethasone (6 times stronger than prednisone) in reducing severity of inflammation and destruction of joints in Rheumatoid Arthritis. That’s impressive.

That’s it’s helping those who suffered from 25 years of Lyme disease, joints and muscle pains is also impressive.

Lyme sufferers should definitely look into Ivermectin.

Maybe there’s more to Ivermectin, Lyme Disease and COVID-19.

To answer Dr. Makis, yes, there certainly is a lot more to Ivermectin and Lyme Disease, which may very well be yet another slow kill bioweapon a la the gain of function virus, and far deadlier Modified mRNA “vaccines;” a combination therapy of Ivermectin and Doxycycline has yielded from anecdotal case studies a near perfect cure rate (with the protocol needing to be cycled a second time for 30-60 days in more severe cases.)
